I paced back and forth in my room, the walls closing in with every step. The exchange between Patrick and Jack replayed in my mind like a bad dream I couldn’t shake. I thought I had walked into a simple breakfast, but instead, I found myself in the middle of a battlefield—with two men who apparently had more history than they cared to admit.
