19 Her parents’ house in Tempe looked innocent enough as they pulled up and parked at the curb. Kate saw that the porch light was on, along with several lights on the ground floor. Nothing remarkable about any of that, which she guessed was the whole point. She also didn’t notice any suspicious vehicles anywhere nearby, but what self-respecting evil warlock would leave so obvious a clue? Maybe he’d parked on the next street over.
