5 Sam left at seven-thirty, in a hurry so she wouldn’t be late for the class she taught at Scottsdale Community College. Even as she was walking out the door, though, she said, “You call me if you get the least bit hinky. I mean it. I’ll find someone to cover for me, or I’ll just cancel. One missed class won’t kill anyone.” Kate had only nodded, although she knew she wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize her friend’s work.
