7 Jack watched the whole thing unfold like a slow-motion scene out of a horror movie — the car accelerating far past a speed that could be considered safe anywhere except the freeway, the way it turned sharply at the last minute and went plummeting across a parking lot and into the side of a defunct HVAC supply store.
