The car slowed down, then turned. At first, I didn’t think much of it. Just another private road, another gated property owned by someone far beyond my world. But then the gates came into view. It was tall and imposing. Made of steel but designed with intricate patterns that made them look less like security and more like something taken out of a royal estate.
