8 I can hardly hear the generator anymore. It’s now just a gentle hum in the background. The tall lamp in the living room is a welcome change from the bizarre, alien sensation of being able to see in the dark. After a while, when you see everything in a murky blue, a cheap supermarket lamp really does the trick. The only problem is: it makes the house look even more messed up. My new brown hoodie and jeans are great. I can’t exactly stay in my pink pyjamas forever; but the TV is the best thing about Kate’s trip into town. I knew I’d miss it, but not this much.
