The morning sun poured golden warmth across the coast, its rays dancing across the surface of the gentle waves as though the ocean itself was smiling. Twenty-year-old Anahita stood by the shoreline, barefoot, her feet half-buried in the cool sand as she stared at the water, lost in thought. The wind tugged softly at her hair, whispering secrets only she could understand.
Marina’s voice had been in her dreams again.
“Keep your name sacred, Anahita. In this world of power-hungry shadows, names hold more than meaning — they hold magic. Among them, you will be Ana. Only those you trust may call you by your true name."*
It wasn’t the first time the ocean queen whispered to her. It happened often — sometimes in dreams, sometimes while she was alone near water, and occasionally, when she submerged beneath the surface, Marina’s voice would echo in her mind as clearly as her own thoughts. There were times it comforted her. Other times, it left her curious, aching for answers. But one thing was always clear — her connection to the ocean ran deeper than blood.
“ANA!” her father, Carl, called from the small dock where their family boat was tethered. “Ready?”
She turned, snapping out of her thoughts. “Coming!”
They were preparing for the usual morning fish run, something she still enjoyed doing despite her life evolving over the years. After her birth, everything in their small family had shifted. Carl’s fish business had grown more successful than he could’ve dreamed, and many credited it to his hard work. But only he and Carolina knew their miracle child had brought a quiet blessing to their lives.
As she boarded the boat, her two closest friends — Alexis and Adam — were already lounging on the bench, each with a packed breakfast in hand.
“Took you long enough,” Adam teased, biting into his sandwich. “We’ve been waiting so long we almost grew beards.”
Alexis rolled her eyes. “You have a beard, dummy. It’s just sad and patchy.”
“I call it rugged,” Adam retorted, pretending to flip his hair.
Anahita laughed. Their bickering was a constant source of entertainment — two souls who had stuck by her since childhood. Alexis, with her wild red curls and loud opinions, and Adam, with his nerdy jokes and gentle heart, were her safe space.
Carl eyed them fondly as he set up the nets. “You three still registering for university today?”
“Yep!” Alexis chirped. “We’re going to be marine nerds together.”
“Biology and marine life department,” Anahita clarified with a smile.
Carl nodded, pride swelling in his chest. “That’s my girl. Following the call of the deep.”
Anahita’s gaze drifted to the water. Following the sea. If only he knew how literal that statement truly was.
As they ventured deeper into the calm blue waters, the boat rocking gently with the tide, Anahita felt the familiar pull. A sensation she’d grown used to — like something beneath the surface was calling her. She inhaled deeply, the salty air filling her lungs.

After the boat ride, Anahita returned to her father Fish company to take her jacket.
She had left it there earlier that morning.
Then she had noise. Strange noises.
Two humans breathing heavily. She watched them.
The female figure bend over on the floor revealing her rear behind. Her skirt was slightly up and her pants shifted to the side for ease. He took his time to admire her hole.
“You’re beautiful down here too”
“Oops” said the female.
He went down on kneel and with slight gentleness, his d**k went fully in.
Her sight blinded. She was perhaps not expecting it this big inside her. It was like his d**k grew more as it was inside her.
She moaned with a smile on her lips.
“You’re an expert in this field”.
“Heavens!!!
Ewwww
They didn’t move. Austin was still plugged in.
“Just look away Ana. Don’t tell Mr.Carl.
He made an effort to get to his feet. Trying to recover from the pleasure of s*x.
Justina adjusted her skirt and stood up. She walked to where Ana is.
“Ana love. This will never happen again,I promise. Don’t tell your dad. I don’t want to lose my job. I love my salary. Should I kneel for you, I don’t mind if you want me to worship you “.
“Shut it up. I will not mention anything to Dad. But let it not happen here again. At least not work hours”.
Justina screamed and hugged her.
“You’re lovely”.
Anahita left without her jacket.

Later that afternoon, at the university, the three of them stood in line at the registration office. The building was grand, with murals of marine life painted across its curved ceiling.
“Name?” the clerk asked.
“Ana,” she said smoothly.
The woman typed. “Full name?”
She hesitated, hearing Marina’s voice in her mind again.
“Keep your name sacred.”
“Just Ana,” she replied confidently. “Ana Evans.”
The woman raised a brow but didn’t argue.
Alexis and Adam followed, and the three left the hall clutching their acceptance slips.
“To new beginnings,” Adam said, holding up an invisible toast.
“To science, sea life, and secrets,” Alexis added, grinning.
Anahita smiled, feeling something stir in her chest.
Something was coming.
But for now, she had her friends, her family, and her name.
And she would protect it with everything she had.
With her strength.
