to accept yourself.

The whole situation had left Kira kind of lost, seeing Inari leave had left an emptiness in her heart she hadn't expected, Shino was still standing bowing towards her and the young fox named Yin was currently staring at her with stars in her eyes. Realizing she wasn't human had shaken Kira to the core, it made sense everything considered, but with everything happening so fast she have not had the time to think about it, the thing that really drove the situation home was the thing that caused Kira to feel the most lost was the sent of Inari slowly disappearing from the air, she hadn't ever been able to be able to tell people apart based on sent, thinking about it was both her sight and hearing also amplified by many times of what she had been used to, the weird thing however was it came kind of natural to her, so she never noticed it at all before paying attention to it. Breaking Kira's silent thoughts "Lady Kira would you mind if I take you to your room, most of the kids share rooms and Yin is currently the only one with the privilege of her own room due to her being leaps and bounds ahead of the others in her studies," Shino said and turned towards Yin. "Would you mind sharing a room with Kira for now, I know it was your hard-earned privilege but I would feel bad about putting Kira in a shared room with all of the others" upon hearing Shinos request Yin's eyes managed to sparkle even brighter somehow, along with her tail wagging uncontrolled from side to side. "Of course lady Kira can stay with me, it would only be an honor to have Inaris daughter share a room with me!" frowning upon hearing Yin's response Shino walked up and smacked Yin on the top of her head! "young one didn't Inari just tell us to keep her status to ourselves, so stop shouting it to the skies or someone might hear." Yin blanched and immediately apologized, both turning to Kira they started leading the way to a tiny shrine-like building a bit away from the main fox shrine, Shino had been doing her best to study Kira so she might best serve her needs and the thing she immediately noticed was that Kira's polite smile seemed more like a mask to hide how worn out she was, and she likely just needed a bit of space for herself. thinking for a bit she decided that Kira would likely rather have some alone time for now, and then wait to tomorrow with being introduced to the other cubs. "Yin will you be a dear and bring some food for Kira, she seems exhausted and I think the best we can do is to allow her a bit of time for herself." Yin immediately nodded her head giving a noise of confirmation and ran off while Shino finished escorting Kira to her new home. After preparing a bed and giving a few items like a bed desk and lamp and other things she thought Kira might need she left her alone. Kira watched as Shino left her behind and as the door finally closed and she heard Shinos footsteps slowly disappear she finally broke down. Kira considered herself fairly strong mentally, but who could blame her she felt it was only a moment ago she was locking up the library to go home, and now she was here in a strange shrine with fox people and she wasn't even human anymore. Kira would be lying if she didn't admit to not holding a whole lot of love for the human race but it was all she had ever known, and she had no clue what her new form meant and represented, Shino had denied rather extremely when she compared herself to her, it seemed to be a status thing, but being honest while she didn't consider herself lost when it comes to her cognitive function, would she be lying if she didn't admit to experiencing a slight hint of information overload at the moment. Sitting down on the bed Kira grabbed her tail in front of her, her fur was silver and almost seemed to shine, not a single of the foxes she had seen had a color anywhere close to this. The other foxes fur were all shades of orange or brown, except for Shino who had claimed to be a Kitsune and therefore had a color closer to her mom's fur, even though they still didn't even look close to compare, that's when Kira's thoughts halted, how had it been so easy for her to see Inari as her mom, Inari had claimed her as her kin which was true, but even the idea of calling Inari by name seemed wrong even though she barely knew her. Ding, Kira heard a noise kind of in her head immediately followed by Inaris voice. "Took you long enough to finally consciously accept me, I didn't want to overwhelm you and force you before you were ready, so I decided to wait until you solidified the link yourself." Kira couldn't help but frown as she wasn't even sure she was ready yet she was still barely keeping together her mental exhaustion from emerging else that happened. "Oh I'm sorry sweetie I was just impatient before you ask I can feel your emotions but I don't know your thoughts, I did, however, want to explain a few things I couldn't in the open First, my seed is still merging with your soul, you're a newborn and you're still growing so I've put you here for protection until you're ready. Secondly, the longer you take to fully accept your new nature along with me the longer the seed will take to merge fully with your soul." Inari said "I'm not sure I fully understand, I've never been anything but human and I don't have the first clue what it means to be what I am now, beside my appearance am I really not feeling any different" Kira replied in her head, she was hoping that all she needed to do was simply to think her response back and it would somehow magically work. Inaris reply came quickly after much to Kiras relief "See that is exactly the problem," Inari said before continuing "Apathy is not the same as acceptance, you might not even realize this but when I found your soul, was your health issues not only due to the vessel struggling to keep the power of your soul contained, no the biggest factor was your instinctive rejection of humanity. Right now you're likely not all that bothered by no longer being human so your soul is a lot more relaxed, but that is not the same as accepting who you or rather what you have become, you are now my daughter which not only means your nature as a spirit fox, but it also means accepting your divinity, I will do my best to help and guide you, but I cannot force you. I can feel your exhaustion and need to be alone but know you just need to think your questions at me and I will answer" As Inari finished talking in her mind everything once again turned quiet leaving Kira to her own thoughts, taken over by exhaustion Kira fell asleep.
