In the morning when I dragged my eyes open, the first thing I saw was Jake staring at me. I took in the rest of him and noticed he wore his usual jeans and hooded jacket. I also noticed he still had his beard too; although he trimmed it up. My fingers stretched out to touch it and he cracked a pleased smile. His gaze never wavered. “Were you watching me sleep?” I asked around a yawn. “Mhm. No pictures this time at least.” I scoffed as I stretched. “You say that like it’s so normal.” “Normal for us,” he reminded me. I didn’t have a response.
