I unlocked and shut the door behind me, noting the quiet mansion and nearly dark entryway. No one was up yet. Good.
I quietly made my way into the kitchen. No one was there, and I stopped and listened for any sign of human activity in the bedrooms above me. I didn't hear anything but noted the time on the microwave. 8:03. The guys would definitely be up soon. Aleks liked to work out in the morning, so I expected he would be awake soon.
I grabbed a single-serve OJ from the fridge, opened it, and dramatically drank it in one gulp. I had gone for a run today, too, in the woods after my shift, so I was extremely thirsty. As an alpha, my wolf needed extra exercise to stay healthy, so I used the surrounding woods outside Twin Pines as my running and hunting grounds
