Chapter 2: Dangerously Close

I laughed, letting out a loud snort. If not for the loud bass in the background, I would have been too embarrassed to stay standing in front of him. “Care to join me?” He asked, extending the bottle in his hand. “I think I've had enough for tonight!” I yelled over the music, waving my hand to turn him down. “Come on, you should let yourself live a little.” He held his hand further. I hesitated for a moment, grabbed it, and slurped a lot of it down my throat. It burned more than the shot I took a while ago. “So… my friends dared me to kiss someone because I didn't want to drink more shots, I said, blinking through the heat. ,"And here I am drinking again. The irony.” He smiled faintly, “I guess I'm a bad influence.” He glanced towards the exit, then at me. “Since we both don't want to be here, should we go somewhere quieter?” I should have said no, I should have laughed the dare off, and stayed with my friends. But at that moment, all I felt was excitement; it was like all my heartache had disappeared. I had never been able to hold a conversation with a guy for more than two minutes and here I was being led out of the club by a stranger in a hoodie. The music faded behind us as we climbed a narrow flight of stairs. The door creaked open to a rooftop lit only by city lights and the moon. “Whoa, this is beautiful,” I marveled at the view from up above. “Yeah, it's my favorite part of this place,” he said, leaning against the rail. “Why are you here all alone though?” I turned to face him, his face darkened a bit, and for a moment I thought he wouldn't answer. “Sometimes, I need to disappear for a bit,” he said quietly. “The noise messes with my head at times.” I tilt my head a bit. “So you go somewhere noisy to escape the noise?” A little smile formed on his lip. “ Not that type of noise.” “So what type of noise do you like?” I said, nudging him gently with my elbow. “ If you could drown the world with one song, what would it be?” “Holocene by Bon Iver.” He runs his hand through his blonde curly hair. “The noise disappears all around me when it's on, it’s like I am all alone in my world, but in a good way.” “It's been a long time since I found another song that made me feel that way,” he added. These days, songs are made just for the fun of it. There's no depth to their words anymore.” “Interesting,” I thought, resting my hands on the railings. "Music makes some feel like I'm not lying to myself. Most times I'm pretending I'm fine, pretending I'm not angry or lonely, but when I put my headphones on it's like …. It's like someone finally sees me. It's the only moment when I can let myself go and just be broken.” There was a moment of silence after that, a heavy one. “I believe there's a song for every moment and the saddest thing is when music stops feeling like that. When it becomes background noise. That's when you know you've started losing yourself,” I added. I felt his stare for a long moment after that. I wrapped my hands around myself, shivering from the cold. I had forgotten to grab a jacket, just my luck. “You want to go somewhere warmer or go back in?” he asked? “I'll do anything to not go back in,” I chuckled. He hesitated before speaking again. “There's a hotel across the street, that's where I'm staying tonight. It's fine if you're not so comfortable with it, I could find an…” “I'm fine with it.” I interrupted him with a smile. We walked across the street into the hotel. The lobby was quiet when we walked in and it felt so much warmer. He grabbed a key card from his wallet as we got to the front of a door then it clicked open. The room smelled like lavender and wood, polished, and it looked like the room was made specially for him. It was in contrast with how simple the hotel looked on the outside. “You can make yourself comfortable,” He said, heading towards the bathroom. I took off my heels, plopping onto the bed with a sigh. “This bed is way too comfortable, I just might crash here forever” “I'll be looking forward to that,” he said from across the room. “You say that like you don't bring girls over all the time.” “Well, aside from my ex, you're the first girl I'm bringing here.” He said, walking towards me. “Well, that's either sweet or you're just really good with your words,” I grinned. He took off his shoes and sat next to me on the bed. “What's your deal with these glasses anyway?” I asked, stretching my hands to his face. “ I want to see what you look like without them. “ Are you sure you're ready to see how ridiculously handsome I am?” he joked. “Wow me oh Poseidon.” I rolled my eyes. He laughed, the sound low and raspy. “Don't say I didn't warn you.” I removed his glasses and looked into his eyes. They were the most beautiful set of blue eyes I had ever seen. Something about him seemed incredibly familiar, and he didn't lie about being incredibly handsome. I could see potential with his glasses on, but with his glasses off, he was a f*****g Greek god. “You're officially less mysterious,” I said, not realizing how close our knees have become. “And you're officially dangerously close.” He leaned in closer. “I like danger,” I said, eyeing his lips. “Do you want to go through with the dare now?” I could feel his breath as he asked, and I couldn't think of anything more than to feel his lips on mine. I let my intrusive thoughts win and went in for the kiss. Our lips met. It was slow at first, but it didn't take long for the hesitation to melt away. His hand slid up to cup my jaw, thumb brushing against my cheek. His other hand found its way down to my thighs, and I felt his finger go all the way in. I tried to stiffen a moan but it betrayed me. His fingers thrust into me rhythmically, and I couldn't help but wonder how good the real deal would feel. He stopped kissing me for a second. “ Should I?”. I nodded my head and pulled him closer for a deeper kiss. It was wrong, but at that moment, nothing felt better. The next moment, he spread my legs wider to get enough space to get in between. I didn't see his d**k, but I felt how large it was. I couldn't help but let out a loud moan. His d**k filled me up completely, I could feel it right up to my stomach, and I knew right then and there that it would be a night I would never forget.
