Stuck In This Thing Called Feelings

Encounter

I'm on my senior year in high school now. I was running along the hallway cause I'm  late for my class. I stopped when I catch a glimpse of someone. 

"Maybe it's just my imagination"

I run as fast as I can. thankfully I arrived on time. I'm sweating. I used my handkerchief to wipe it. Then our teacher came in. 

Mr. Brody: Take a sit people.

My classmates do so.

Mr. Brody: We'll be having a new addition to our class. You may come in.

I'm just stare in disbelief. 

Mr. Brody: Please introduce yourself.

Valerie: Sup, I'm Valerie Montana. 

Mr. Brody: That's it?

Valerie: Yeah.

Mr. Brody: Okay, I'm hoping you'll be nice to her. Take a sit on that vacant chair.

There's no other vacant than the one on my right. She take the seat besides me.

I glance towards her direction. She's not even looking on me. Maybe she forgot who I am.

-End of the first subject-

A couple of students come to her.

Classmate 1: Where do you live?

Valerie: Just near here.

Their house is next to us. Is she going to live there again?

Classmate 2: Do you have a boyfriend?

Valerie: I don't date guys. 

I gather my things. I head out and go to the cafeteria. I'm starving.  I ordered one burger with cheese and fries. 

Jenna: Hey, I've been waiting for you. What took you so long?

"Probably me trying to figure out what to eat."

She's sitting in front of us. Then a couple of girls surrounds her. 

Jenna: Hey, are you listening to me?

" Sorry, What?"

Jenna: I see, you also got an eye for the new girl.

She's not that new to me though.

" I'm not"

Jenna: You always looked at her.

"I didn't"

Jenna: Come on, admit it you have a crush on her.

"Nice, seems like you're dreaming."

Jenna: Fine, if you say so.

We eat and talked about our next subjects. A few minutes later we're done eating. 

I didn't notice the juice that is spilled on the floor.

Damn it! I'm going to fall. I closed my eyes. I didn't fall. When I open my eyes she's holding me. 

Valerie: You're clumsy as always. 

I just stare at her. Then I realized that I'm still in her arms. I stand and compose my self.

"Thanks."

Valerie: Be careful next time, Scarlet.

Then she walked away.

I'm still stunned in my position. She knows me.

"She said my name"

She remembered me but I can feel that she's not the girl that I know when we're little. There's like a invisible wall between us.

Jenna: Are you okay?

"Yeah...I'm fine."

Jenna: She knows you? 

"Let's go to our next class"

We head inside our room. She's leaning on her armrest. She's probably sleeping. I sit on my chair.  

Time flies so fast. 

-After Class-

I was about to approach her. Suddenly Jenna appears in front of me. 

Jenna: Do you have some plans for today?

I saw her walked out the door. 

Jenna:  You're not listening again.

"Sorry, yeah I have a free time. Let's go to the new coffee shop."

-Coffee Shop-

I ordered a slice of strawberry cake and one iced white chocolate mocha. 

Jenna: So...what's your relationship with Valerie exactly?

"She's my childhood friend."

Jenna: But why didn't she talk to you? Did you have a fight before?

"I don't know, maybe people change. They left before without a notice. It's my first time seeing her again. It's been like ages."

Jenna: Interesting.

"Can we talk about something else instead?"

A few minutes later.

Since it is getting late. We decided to go home.

-At home-

I lay down on my bed. 

She's different. She looks more confident and beautiful. 

"Don't think about her."

Then I get change and prepare myself for dinner.

-Later that evening-

I looked to the window and I saw their house with an open light. Her room is in front of my room. She come inside. I hide myself in the corner. 

"I hope she didn't saw me."

"When I looked once again. Her curtain is down."

-The next day-

I yawn. 

Jenna: Good morning!

"Morning"

Jenna: What did you do last night?

"Watching the new upload series. I wish I have the same energy as you."

Jenna: Coffee?

She gave me a cup of coffee.

"You're a life saver." "Did I mention to you before that I love you?"

Then she entered our room.

Jenna: I know, you love me cause I'm the best and beautiful as well.

"Now don't get carried away. Your head is getting bigger."

Jenna: You owe me a coffee tomorrow. 

"Deal"

-Locker-

I'm walking down the hallway. I need to get some things on my locker. I saw her kissing a someone

That's Fiona from the cheerleading squad. I don't know if I proceed to get my things or  should I just let them go first? Wait why would I have to be bothered by them? I walked and act as if I saw nothing.

Fiona: I still have a class baby. Let's see each other again soon.

Valerie: Sure thing.

Fiona: One more kiss.

She kissed her once again. I'm so done with this. I quickly get my things and leave. I walked as fast as I can when I bumped into someone. My things fall down to the ground.

I picked it up.

"Sorry, I didn't see you."

Random Girl: It's fine. 

She helped me pick up my things.

"Thank you."

Random Girl: What's your name?

"Scarlet Phillips"

Random Girl: Nice name, it suits you. By the way I'm Beverly Scott pleased to meet you.

"Same here."

Beverly: I'll get going now. See you.

"Yeah, see you."

She has a long hair and she's tall.

I better get going. My class will start soon. I head to our room. Later on, I saw her entered our room. We looked into each other's eye. Then I looked on the other side.
