It was a weird ride going to college. But what was weirder was that he wanted to come with me.
"You cannot come inside," I said when I saw him behind me at the door.
"I am ordered to," He simply stated looking directly into my eyes. There were people around and were doing what they do, staring. At me, and more precisely at him. And he was looking at my eyes and I was trying not to look into his eyes.
"You are not allowed in," I whispered spoke so only he could hear.
"I have a permission letter," Be said, pulling out a document from his jacket and showing me.
"Permission letter? From who? How?" I asked. All of this was happening right in the middle of the stairs, which were covered with people, all wanting to know what I was doing with him.
"Your father, he got it from the directors, Not know how,"
I opened my mouth and then closed it. I look around for any teacher or staff and then open my mouth again, "If anyone says anything, You are the one responsible," I again whisper said, pulled my bag over the shoulder, turned, and walked up the stairs. He was right behind me. I was nervous, more nervous than on my first day at college. What will people say? What will they talk about? That I am a daddy's princess who needs a bodyguard, and a bodyguard this hot. So much for a good day.
My eyes were scanning the room, as we walked through the hallways and then to my locker. I opened my locker and pulled out my books. I closed it, and Jen was right behind it looking at me with the biggest eyes possible. I again opened my mouth, but she beat me to it, pulling me a little away from Mason.
"What in the name of dear God and his heavens is this," She whisper yelled to me, impatient as ever.
I gulped and smiled, "He is my new bodyguard,"
"Girl What?" now she yelled. And I nodded my head yes. She asked me how, why, and other interrogative pronouns, and I answered them all calmly, with her freaking out.
Noticing Mason the crowd was gathering again, and interrupting Jen's and mine conversations, asking me who he was. Some girls had the audacity to call him a Snack, A hunk all while he was standing there listening to each of them. I looked back and glared at him because of all the chaos caused due to him.
I took a deep breath. "Yes, he is with me," I yelled at the crowd. "He is my bodyguard. Yes, he will be with me for the rest of the time. Yes, even in school. And he is off limits," I gave everyone the 'Okay?!" look. "Come on, Go back to work, I wanna see you all moving,"
The crowd started to scatter, and those who still were standing were threatened by Jen saying she is gonna whip their bottoms.
"Well Jen this is Mason, And Mason this is Jen," I introduced both of them. Jen said Hi and Mason just nodded.
I looked around to spot Bianca at her locker which is across from me. A smirk formed its way on my face. Now, this is what I didn't think about. Maybe this can be fun. Maybe moving around with the potential greek god man, who is off limits to everyone but me And who, I also won't be dating, is not that bad. Actually, it's good, it's Win and wins.
There came horrified my other two friends, Amy and Mae. Eyes wide like saucepans and faces as If I was the lost daughter of Darth Vader. I explained everything again. And introduced them to Mason. Amy stayed still staring at Mason and Mae raised her hand to him. He looked at her hand, his forehead creased.
"Good meeting you," He said without raising his hand to shake hers. Mae lowered her hand and leaned to me, "Is he a Muslim? Modest and all?" She whispered.
"I don't like physical touch," Mason replied to her question and she straightened up from my ear, and smiled at him.
A while later, the bell rang and We made our way to our classes. Mason followed me. I entered the class and he too was with me. The class went silent. I took a seat on the second bench, next to Justin. Justin smiled between me and Mason was standing next to me.
"I heard," He said, "Cool," He again looked at Mason, while I looked into his eyes. His eyes were Hazel, a deep set of round eyes.
I sneered, "Yeah Right,"
"Everyone's staring," He whispered getting close to my ear.
I looked at him and smiled, "Usual Eleanor Stuff," I said and he smirked back. Gosh, he is freaking handsome. I thought. How did I get so lucky? Two of the most handsome man sitting and standing on either of my sides. And I can have none of them. Life can be so much teasing.
Professor John arrived at the class. He greeted everyone and eyed Mason.
"And who must be you," he said looking at me and him. Mason was all black. Black pants, black shirt, black jacket, and a black earpiece in the left ear. Professor John was an overall cool person teaching toxicology in the best way.
"He is with me," I said, "And," Professor John asked, "And he is my...escort, My father is really worried about my protection and stuff,"
"And he is in the class?"
"He has a permission letter to be around me in school, directors signed it,"
Professor John eyed him again scanning him from head to toe.
"Would he mind standing a little, outside the door," John asked me, "I must assure you if anyone will come to Hurt Miss Vitale It's through the door," John said to Mason.
"Or through the window," Mason said.
"Then stand outside the window!" John smiled. "Come on this is a class, waiting to learn and I waiting to teach. It won't be possible with you standing there in the middle of the class, distracting everyone,"
Mason looked at me and I bit my lip. "Go," I whispered and he complied, walking by Mr. John and standing outside the door. Great! I just need to do this with five more teachers, and this semester will be easier.
He went outside and stood at the door looking at me. Less distracting for the other students, but not for me. It was hard to concentrate on what Mr. John was saying when you know in your peripheral that a handsome a*s man is staring at you. Then you concentrate on other things, such as of you are looking presentable for him. Or, that if the angle he is looking at you, your nose isn't too standing up. So, biting my inner cheek I try to focus on Mr. John and try to write stuff down. I search for my blue marker but wasn't able to find it. I looked around, then I looked below the chair, then I looked inside my bag.
"What's wrong?" Justin asked. I looked at him and told him I can't find my blue marker. In response, Justin smirked and touched my knuckle. I looked down at my hand and realized I had been holding it the entire time, right there in my hand.
I winced at myself, and Justin shook his hand smirking. Then, I looked at Mason. This man is making me embarrass myself. As if realizing my mind, Mason narrowed his eyes at me and turned onto the other side such that his back was now facing me. I took a deep breath and focused on the lecture at last.
The class ended after fifty minutes and people in the class ran outside. Mason moved out of the way for them. I too packed my stuff and moved out, going for my next class which was in five minutes. Mason obviously following me. This time Mason stood outside the class. Professor Bradley ask about him and I repeated the exact words.
It was lunchtime, and I found my girls. We headed to the cafeteria, got our food, and settled down at a table. I took a bite of my sandwich. Jen and Amy gave me a weird look, ushering me to something behind. I looked back and saw Mason there, right above my head.
"You can sit down Man," I said. "It's lunchtime eat something,"
Mason didn't respond. But when I raised my eyes, he shook his head once.
"Don't Yo feet hurt from standing too long?" Jen asked him, taking the pack of my fries.
"Hey!" I questioned but she ignored me. "Are you hungry?" She asked again, "You can have some fries,"
Mason shook his head, sighing.
"Do you ever talk?" She asked again.
"Stop it, stop messing with him," I said, and she shrugged her shoulders, eating another fry. "And seriously Mason, You are all allowed to sit and eat, Don't go so hard," I turned my head a d gold him. He has been standing for almost three hours and I haven't seen him eating.
Mason looked into my eyes. "Don't worry about me, I will eat," He said with a light tilt of lips one can somehow call a smile.
"Great," I said and continued munching on my sandwich, ignoring the butterflies in my stomach.
