Though they quickly disappeared in the foliage, Viran could see the treetops shaking, marking the path the beast took. He was familiar enough with demonology to recognize that the creature had to be of the Eighth Pavilion at minimum. He didn’t care how talented Keriya was—without magic to aid her, she would perish against a foe like that. Viran followed her at a sprint.
