I took a deep breath to cool off before turning to Mike. “I can let you off this time, but I don’t mind contributing to another body count if there’s a next time. This is not an empty threat. I’m serious.”
Sensing my intent to kill, Mike shied away from my gaze.
“Now, apologize to Lily.”
Biting his lip, Mike faced Lily and faintly said, “Sorry.”
“Louder. Are you a mosquito?”
“I’m sorry!”
Mike went off to find a tree on his own to rest.
“Flynn, go on with the grilling. I’m starving.”
Alana changed the subject.
I cast another glance at Mike before brushing him aside. I picked up the half-cooked fish and placed it back on the grill.
