CHAPTER TWO

My hands were shaking as I opened the letter and read it aloud to Shirley. "Dear Alexa, I hope this letter finds you well. There are so many things I want to say to you, but finding the right words has been difficult. First, I want to express how deeply sorry I am for everything. I know I've made mistakes and hurt you in ways I can never fully comprehend. I know that I left you when you were just a little child. I should have been there for you, supported you, and cherished you. But instead, I failed you, and for that, I am truly remorseful. But there's something else I need to tell you, something that weighs heavily on my heart. I know your secrets, Alexa. I may not have been present in your life physically, but that doesn't mean I haven't been aware of the challenges you've faced, the decisions you've made, and the secrets I kept hidden from you." I paused for a moment, and I tried to hold back my tears. I was stunned. "This person has been monitoring me? This person knows everything about me? How is that even possible?" I asked and then continued. "I want us to have a chance to talk, Alexa, and try to understand each other better. So, what do you say? Could we meet under the moon, at the same spot where you sang across the river bank? It would mean the world to me. Take care, be safe." The letter ended, leaving me surprised yet doubtful about this person. "I need to think before I act," I whispered to myself. "Alexa, calm down. No need to cry. We need to think before we act," Shirley said, her smile a comforting embrace in my moment of uncertainty. "You're right, Shirley," I replied, grateful for her presence. "Do you think we can trust this person? Looking at the letter, it seems like someone who deeply knows you, Alexa," Shirley observed perceptively. I nodded in agreement, acknowledging her insight. "Alright, Shirley, we'll need to head to the riverbank when the moon is out," I said, rising and touching my stomach, where my source of hope and strength lay. "If you say so, Alexa. You should rest; you need it," Shirley advised, her concern touching. As time passed, I waited anxiously for the moon, my thoughts lingering on the letter I had read. After a while, I heard Shirley calling my name. "Alexa!!! Hurry up, let's get going," she exclaimed, her enthusiasm contagious, lifting my spirits. I hurried to join her. "Alexa, what kept you? Get in, dear," she urged, opening the car door for me, her gesture filled with kindness. Gratefully, I got in, prompting her to do the same. The ride to the riverbank would take about ten minutes. "When we reach there, Alexa, don't worry about anything. You will be saved," Shirley reassured me. I nodded, trusting her words. "Here we go." Exiting the car, I saw three strangers, all women, but the one in the center exuded an air of leadership. "Alexa," a voice called out to me, laden with unmistakable emotion. "Alexa, dear," the voice called again, and I searched for its source, soon spotting a lady emerging from the shadows. "Who are you, and how did you know my name?" I asked, feeling a mix of frustration and fear. She waved her hand, signaling the other three ladies to leave, and they complied. "Come with me, Alexa," she instructed, and I followed, a sense of familiarity guiding my steps. I followed her from behind as she led me further and then stopped and looked at me. I saw different emotions welling up on her face. "Alexa am Nora. Your... Yo... Your mother dear." She stuttered. My eyes widen, shocked. It wasn't what I expected. I looked at her but her face wasn't lying. But still couldn't believe her, for so many years and it's just now she had to pop out and claim she's my mother. Tears poured down from my eyes, and all I could do was hold my mouth I didn't know what else to say. "Impossible it can't be true." She came close to me and held my hands. "I know it is Alexa, I have hurt you so badly, I can't even forgive myself. But I did it just to save you Alexa, my child." "Ok then tell me what happened and how you saved me. I want to know." I asked as I got away from her. "I will, I won't keep anything away from you," she said to me as tears streamed down her face. I still couldn't believe it, but I tried to listen to her. "Sit down, dear," she asked me, and I obeyed without refusing. "Do you know what you are, dear?" she asked me. I looked at her, puzzled. "I don't quite understand," I replied. She smiled and touched my cheek. "Dear, you are a half-breed," she said. I laughed, thinking she was joking. "I'm not," she said. "You're half-witch and half-wolf, and trust me, you're the most unique thing that has ever happened." I could only smile. "So, is that why you gave me up?" I asked. "No, it isn't. I gave you up because you were in danger, dear. The combination of your powers is something that the world is searching for. I hid you away because they would've taken you away from me." We both began to cry as she wiped the tears streaming down my cheeks and continued, "Child, I want to teach you how to control and grow your powers. I want you to be strong and save dear." "Can I get a hug, Mum?" I asked hurriedly, overwhelmed with emotion. "I have something to say, Mum," I said, looking at her as I placed her hand on my stomach. She looked at me in shock. "You're pregnant, Alexa? How is that possible? Don't tell me it's Jasper." This revelation shocked me. How did she know? I looked at her, waiting for her to speak. "Okay, I'm a psychic, dear. I've been seeing your future for a bit. I looked at my mum, as her words played in my head. "I love Jasper, Mum, and no one else but I don't want him or anyone else to know I'm carrying his child." My mom nodded her head approvingly. "I see, but Jasper isn't your mate. If you want him, then who am I to stop you, dear? But you have to follow your heart no matter what, dear." Unknown POV As these two reunited they both got to tell themselves about their past and how they experienced it. Meanwhile, Jasper was grieving as he didn't see Alexa after the night he spent with Olivia. It was the worst pain he had ever felt. The wolf in him howled more it was the cry of a dog Losing its child. He tried to search for her it was all in vain. Just then two guards came running. "Boss we can't find her anyway." Two built men said. Jasper looked at them with anger as he broke the table in front of him.
