The days breezed by pretty quickly. Between juggling customers, filing paperwork, and pretending to focus while Willow chattered about her latest obsession with a bodyguard she’d met the day before, Ravyn barely noticed time pass. Every hour that slipped away brought her closer to the night Octavian had practically forced her to agree to. Their “de-stress mission.” By five-thirty, she was sitting at her desk, chin in hand, staring at her reflection in the computer monitor. Her dark hair was a little messy from the day, and the faint circles under her eyes hadn’t vanished despite the concealer she’d carefully dabbed on that morning. She sighed.
