I slowly opened my eyes, greeted by the soft glow of Jade’s room. The absence of that familiar beeping sound created a quiet atmosphere, different from the medical settings I’d grown accustomed to. The air carried the scents of Jude and Jade, wrapping me in a comforting embrace.
Lying still on the bed, I savoured the tranquillity, as if time had expanded, and I had been in a deep slumber for ages. My gaze fixated on the ceiling, and I mentally checked for any signs of pain in my body. Surprisingly, there was none, a soothing revelation.
With the comfort of the moment settling in, my thoughts turned to how I ended up in Jade’s room. Memories surfaced in fragments, and I began piecing together the events that brought me to this quiet sanctuary.
