"Jasper Fleamont Burton! Given me back my hair brush!" I yelled
"You forgot the magic word" Jasper taunted
"Give it to me or else you wake up tomorrow, Genderless" I threatened.
Okay, Let me given you some clarification.
Hi! I'm Shiyloh! Wait, to much clarification.
Remus, Jasper, Lily, Elliott, Rhys and I are now in our Sixth year. It's been an adventurous three years, we'd done so much stuff, pranked so many people, learned so much more.
Examinations last year weren't as tough as people say that they are. You just have to read (Something Moron 1 and Moron 2, Jasper and Elliott, don't know how to do). I took a lot of studying, help from Lily and Remus, but we all managed to do really on the test itself, even though we all completely crashed afterwards.
Last year, something . . . Interesting, happened. Okay that's an under statement.
Last year Powell (Yes last name basis) called Lily a disgraceful mundane.
It was the first time I'd ever seen Lily cry so much. She was heartbroken for ages, she didn't come out of our dorm for days. I'd ended up bringing her meals for those days.
In a rage of the moment sort of thing, I remember my brother, Jasper, Elliott and Rhys' eyes widening, Powell taking a step away from me, and my mind began to act on impulse.
I remember all the gravity around Powell disappearing, him choking for air and going blue. Dirt raised from the ground, leaves on the trees going upside down.
Then, I felt a small hand on my arm, I knew it was Lily, but I wasn't sure that I was me any more.
In fear that I'd hurt her or someone else, I gently but forcefully tore my arm away. The air and gravity around Powell returned and I could hear him gasping and gulping air like a fish.
The way everyone was looking at me, with fear and shock, I ran away.
I got help from Professor Daedalos, who explained to me that I was a rare species called Kekarin. I was the last of my kind, which might sound depressing, but no one knew we existed in the first place, so no one could ask me questions, or discover the secret itself, which was good for me.
But back to the story!
Jasper tsk-ed and walked towards me. I really did try hard not to blush, I could feel to tiniest bit of heat go to my cheeks, but luckily for me, my tan covered it. I took a deep breath to try and calm myself down.
Why, you may ask, am I blushing?
I'm almost ashamed to admit, that I'd grown a major crush on my best friend. He doesn't know it of course. And he only thinks of me as his sister. It was the typical situation that I constantly cursed myself for because it was so cliché to fall for your best friend. What a stupid thing to do. I can't tell you how many stories I've read about this situation, with good ending and bad endings, which is what scared me and made me hesitant about the feelings.
"That's no way to talk to you awesome best friend" Jasper told me, getting closer to me as he spoke. My heart raced and I twisted my lips to not show my nervousness.
Instead, I scoffed "I didn't know Elliott was in here too!"
"Ha! I told you so Jazz!" Elliotts voice called from the shower.
"That's hurts Flames, that really hurts" Jasper put his hand on his heart, or, where he thought his heart was.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed my hair brush from his hand before going upstairs to my bedroom.
I quickly brushed my hair, put on my bikini and a white over shirt, I tied my hair up so it wouldn't get into my eyes, slid on my sandals and walked down stairs to the pool that the Burtons had. This house was my favourite place to spend the summer. Over the past three years, every summer, Remus and I would return to this house, Fleamont and Euphemia would welcome us with open arms. We promised that we would move out and get out of their way as soon as we were old enough, but they never seemed to mind having us there.
I took off my over shirt and laid down, I didn't really need a tan, but I needed a way to pass off the time until Lily gets here. We're going to take the boys camping muggle style today, which the boys were excited for. We'd only ever been camping the wizard way, which had its extreme perks. So this time we were taking them camping the simple way.
Since we are too young to apparate and You can't floo to the cabin that we're staying in, I rented us a car that I'd drive.
Yes I know how to drive. It's an important skill to have, especially when you live near the heart of London. Lily and I tend to drive everywhere, but the boys had never gone with us before.
My birthday is in a week too! I was excited for that, but not really excited to get older.
I heard footsteps and whistling. I recognized the sound of them, having lived with the same people all the time, I'd remembered what their footsteps sounded like. Simple things such as that amaze me sometimes, the human ability to recognize someone by their footsteps.
"Well Hart, I'm not sure that I'm ready to share such a pretty specimen" I heard Elliotts voice, I didn't even need to open my eyes to know that he was checking me out.
"Face is up here Black"
Now I opened my eyes and saw Lily, trying not to laugh at Elliott. I grinned at them.
"Lily!" I exclaimed, jumping up to hug my best girl friend. She wrapped her arms around me in return.
"Shiy!"
We instantly went into an in-depth conversation about our summers and the camping trip, discussing important planning bits and how we would set everything up. Remus and Jasper soon came outside and joined us and Jasper decided that it's be a good idea to interrupt our conversation.
He picked me up by my waist, threw me over his shoulder and jumped into the pool . . . With me. Damn him.
By the yells that I heard before hitting the water, Elliott had done the same with Lily. Oh, He totally likes her! But he won't do anything about it because Jasper would go insane. Jasper was still absolutely hooked on Lily, which was a bit saddening, but I got a slight feeling of revenge whenever Lily rejected him, which was absolutely horrible I know, but there were some things that I couldn't control, my feelings happened to be one of them.
"Burton!" I shouted when a resurfaced.
I looked behind me to see Jasper staring at me, but when he noticed I was looking, he turned away and swam to Rhys.
I just blinked, Remus glanced at me with concern I just shook my head and pulled myself out. That was weird, very weird.
I shook my head again, wiping the water out of my eyes and I swam to the edge of the pool and lifted myself out. I sat at the edge and chatted with Lily from there.
