Chapter Seven

(Matt’s P.O.V.) Beware there is a lot of POV switching this chapter!

I looked down at Blue her eyes wide with worry and I know what she is thinking. “Cas is fine. Right James?” I asked him trying to ease her mind.

James gives me a confused look then looks at Blue. “Oh. Yeah of course, of course she’s fine. This is a completely different thing. It’s a-a guy thing” James said with a confused 'asking if she bought it' look.

“Oh, um...ok then. I guess I should leave you guys alone to have your ‘problem’ sorted” Blue said taking a few steps back in the direction of the cars.

“Oh my goddess is that Blue?” Casey said bouncing down the stairs inside the house

“Casey!” Blue yells with a smile ear to ear on her face. “Boy am I glad to see you!”

“Come on in dear I’ll show you around while the guys talk”

As Casey bounces away with Blues Arm linked around hers I looked back at James.

“In my office now” I said with a commanding voice.

“Yes alpha”

We made our way to my office to speak in private and away from Blues ears.

(Blues POV)

As Casey led my around the enormous house we made our way to the kitchen which is just a short right from the front entrance. The kitchen was way bigger then any kitchen needed to be. It was lined with white and grey counters and cabinets, stainless steal appliances with a beautiful matching island in the center. Casey sat me at a large oak table at the other end of the kitchen near a grand window looking out into the neighborhood. “I wonder what they are talking about” I said.

“Huh? Oh probably just guy stuff. You know the usual like car problems.” Casey scoffed as she grabbed a drink out of the fridge. “How ever though I’m more interested in that pretty necklace you got on.” She gives me a smirk as she sits now across form me.

“Oh, it’s kinda like a birthday gift from Matt I guess”

She gasped at my words “It’s your birthday?!” She said clasping her checks with her hands. “Why didn’t you say something earlier?!”

“It’s not a big deal Casey. Besides Matt ordered a pizza and pop earlier so I’m pretty excited about that.” I said with a smile

“Pizza? You’re excited...about pizza?” She said with a confused look. “You act like you’ve never eaten a pizza before” giggling at me.

“Well...a-actually I haven’t.”

“Come again? I’m sorry I think I miss heard you. I thought you said you’ve never eaten a pizza before” she said laughing.

“That’s what I said. I’ve never had pizza before...” I see Casey giving me a confused look “I’ll explain it later, promise” I said giggling. Then a loud and booming roar came echoing down the halls of the house. My body jumps at the sound, I turned to Casey “H-hey do y-you by any chance have a pet bear or something?” My voice shacking from the terror building in my chest.

“No sweetie we don’t have pets.” She giggled.

(Matt’s POV)

“How could there be rouges in my territory?!” I let out a roar in frustration. After a few seconds I get a mind-link from Casey

“You need to cool it! Blue thinks we have a beast running around our house. Thanks to you, she’s completely freaked out!”

I groaned in irritation “James I don’t want any of this getting back to Blue, do you understand me?”

“Yes alpha” he said with a bow to show respect. I opened the mind-link to all the warriors we have.

“I don’t want to hear a single peep out of anyone, not a growl or huff or howl understand?”

“Yes alpha” they all said in unison.

“I need all patrols doubled up. I want one patrol on the inside of the fence and the other on the outside. I need shifts switched out an hour earlier then our normal time, I don’t want anyone tired while out on patrol. Nobody comes in or out of those gates without my say so. Do I make my self clear?” I said in my alpha tone.

“Yes alpha” they all said back.

“James don’t let the girls leave the house.”

He nods at me. We make our way back to the main entrances when I heard giggling coming from the kitchen. The girls are sitting at the table chatting up a storm.

“Hey whatcha talking about?” I said.

“Oh you know just girl stuff.” Casey always new how to be a pain in my neck and she took that job with pride. “So Blue here is pretty excited about her first taste of pizza” Casey said while giving me a sly look. My eyes snap back to Blue surprised but then my head goes fuzzy with the incoming mind-link.

“Sir, there is a car at the Gate he is one of our pack members stating he has a pizza for you.” The gate guard said in skeptic tone.

“Send him in if he’s lying I’ll deal with it.” I shut the mind-link off and told the girls “I’ll be right back, I think the pizza is here.” Blues eyes shot up in excitement at the word ‘pizza’ it made me chuckle before I walked away. I opened the door and walked outside just as the car pulled up.

“Sorry it took so long alpha. Can I ask why it’s so hard to get in and out of the community?” He asked with a confused look.

“We have rouges Running around in the territory. So I suggest you stay alert. If you see anything let me know.”

“Yes Sir.” He said in response.

“What’s your name delta?”

“I’m Cody sir”

“Cody do you have my back?”

“Of course sir, always.” He said with confidence.

“Good, if I call I expect you to help me.” I gave the young man a smile before sending him on his way. I say young man but he’s only 3 years or so younger then I am. I do the math in my head ‘if I’m twenty then that makes him about seventeen or so. I better make sure he stays away from Blue. I brought the pizza and pop in the house and sat it in front of Blue. She had a sparkle in her eyes at the site of the square box in front of her. I hope I can make those eyes light up like that for the rest of her life.

I sit down and watch as she opens the box to get her first real look at pizza with her mouth gapped open. “Anyone up to some room temperature pop?” I asked with a chuckle. Everyone but Blue looked at me confused.

“Room temperature?” Asked Casey

“You see the princess here doesn’t like cold pop.” I said nudging Blues Arm with my elbow. “If you don’t like it there’s ice in the freezer.” I said looking at James and Casey.

“Ugh I’ll get cups” James said chuckling while getting up from his chair next to Casey.

“I’ll help you.” Blue said while standing up following behind.

Casey gives them a glance making sure Blue is out of ear shot and whispered to me “Blue can not stay here. Your wolf will eventually take over and scare her to death. The fact you brought her here was the single most stupidest thing you have ever done.”

“Casey, I couldn’t just let her wait outside for four hours in the middle of the night.” While arguing with her I didn’t realize there was a request to mind-link. “What?!” I snapped at the interrupter.

“Sir...it’s about the rogues...” I looked to James in worry and he looked back. I shut the mind-link off. “James can I speak to you...outside.” I said

“Yah sure...don’t drink all the pop, k?” He said bumping Blues chin gently with his fist. I let out a low growl that Casey tried to hide with a fake cough.

“Excuse me something must be caught in my throat.” Casey giggled.

“Are you ok? Do you need some water?” Blue asked. She is so caring...and gullible when it comes to Casey.

“James.” I said while tilting my head, telling him to go outside.

(Blues POV)

“D-did I just hear a growl?” I asked Casey after the guys walked outside.

“Mmm, a growl? I didn’t hear anything”

I shrugged my shoulders dismissing the thought, and sat down to start eating. As I took a piece of pizza out of the box footsteps came rushing up behind me I turned and found a group of people rushing into the kitchen.

“All right, pizza!” A very large guy with brown hair said. With just those three words the entire box of pizza is gone but thankfully I still had a slice of heaven in my hand. That is until someone snatched it.

“Thanks.” She said with her mouth full of my pizza when I looked in her direction I noticed it was Shea. She gave me an evil smirk before walking out of site. Casey looked at me with pity and said “I’m so sorry Blue. They can be real jerks when it comes to food.”

“Nah it’s ok, it probably wasn’t that good anyway.” Shrugging my shoulders with a forced smile. I rest my head in my hand looking out the window. I see Matt and James having what seems like a heated argument. “I wander what they are arguing about out there.”

“Huh?” Casey hummed, turning around to match my gaze. “I dun no, they hardly ever fight so...maybe it’s about you?” She said with a smile. I looked back down at my empty plate, the missing pizza made me feel sad. ‘I was so close to tasting it’ I thought.

(Matt’s POV)

“How could they get away?!” I growled.

“I don’t know sir, we caught their scent and followed it but it led us to a cliff.” James stated.

I groaned and ran my hand through my hair in frustration. “I want patrols all night, nothing changes from my earlier orders. Tell the boys to order food from a pack friendly shop and have it delivered to the gate guards to distribute it out. There’s no point in stressing over it. If they’re gone, then they’re gone, but we will not give them the upper hand.”

“Yes sir. Do you think we should head back inside now?”

“Yes I think that’s for the best.” I said to James before walking back in. When we get through the door we head to the kitchen where I notice a very sad looking Blue. “What happened?” Then I noticed the empty box of pizza and the many wolves filling the hallways with their mouths full.

“Blue’s a little upset because a bunch of thugs came and snagged up all the pizza before she could even get a bite.” Casey explained. I looked at Blue who was still staring down at her empty plate, walked around the wall and out of the kitchen and pulled my phone out.

“Hey Cody? I’m gunna need 10 more pizzas with extra cheese here ASAP.”

“Of course sir. Right away!”

I walked back into the kitchen after hanging the phone up and sat down next to Blue. “Hey you ok” I asked tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.

“Huh? Oh y-yeah I’m fine. It’s just pizza.” She said giving me a small smile and a shrug.

“Hey let’s go watch a movie or something.” I asked trying to get her mind off of the food before the new pizzas come. “Promise it will make you feel better.” I said with a smirk.

“Yeah that sounds good.”

I walked to the movie room alone while Blue and Casey were talking in the kitchen. It was packed full of people. “Get out” I commanded. They all hurried out the door with their tales between their legs. All except one, Shea, “did you not hear me? I said get out.” I repeated my statement.

“Last time I checked this was the pack house.” She said smirking at me which pissed me off.

“Last time I checked, this was MY house. If you don’t like it then get out.” My wolf clawing at my mind trying to take control for how she treated Blue earlier.

“Pack house?” Blue said standing behind me with Casey and James who both looked startled by her question.

“It’s a house full of...” Shea began to say before I cut her off with a growl. I heard Blue gasp and when I turned around she was taking a few steps away from me.

“Re-re-“ Her eyes wide with fear and her body trembling, she couldn’t make out any words. She continued to back away from me until it turned into a full blown sprint down the hallway.

“Damn it!” I growled “I’ll deal with you later Shea.” I took off down the hall chasing after her. She turned her head to look behind her and seen me. She let out a blood curdling yelp and ran faster. ‘If she is trying to find the front door she’s going the wrong way’ my wolf said to me ‘we are scaring her even more, you know that right?’

‘I can’t just let her run. I need to at least try to explain everything to her.’

‘Then let me catch her’ he said

I let my wolf take control because he is much faster then me. He let out a growl at the sense of the chase. He felt enjoyment stalking his mate the fear she was radiating pleased him. I began to regret my decision letting him take over.

She took a left down the hall I could hear little screams for help every now and then so we took a right, we knew where that hallway leads to and we would get there first. As we neared the end of the hall I waited and listened for her panicked breaths and footsteps to get closer. I leaped around the corner and pounced on her laying her on the ground flat on her back with me on top pinning her hands above her head.

“Please let me go! I won’t tell anybody what I saw I swear!” Tears streaming down her face as she pleaded, refusing to even open her eyes.

“Would you shut up and listen for a minute” my wolf growled in a demonic type of voice. He sounds like five people talking in unison.

She let out another scream “please you’re hurting me!” Her words shocked me I’m not laying on her nor did I knock her over that hard how am I hurting her? Then my eyes looked at her hands, my finger nails are claws and my wolf loved every second of it.

‘Let her go! We ARE hurting her!’

‘NO she will just run again!’ He growled at me

It was an internal fight for control between me and my wolf until I heard her scream again, our grip was getting tighter on her wrists. Her sleeves rolled down her arm while struggling to break free from us. My wolf let out a booming roar stopping her, turning her body to stone, but she still wouldn’t look at me.

‘She harms herself’ my wolf said looking at the scars running all along her wrists. There was pain in his voice like he just realized how hard her life has been and he wasn’t helping to make it any better. He relinquished the control back over to me.

I loosened my grip on her “Blue...we need to talk.” I spoke soft and calmly trying not to scare her any more “please let me explain.” She nodded her head slowly and hesitantly at me. Her body was still shaking so I lifted her up into my arms and carried her to my room. Once we got there I put her down beside the bed thinking she would sit down but instead she slumped to the floor and tucked her knees so her chest, keeping a firm grip on them until her knuckles turned white. “Blue im sorry I...I didn’t mean to scare you I swear. I wanted to tell you but the timing didn’t feel right.” During my apology I got a mind-link from James.

“Pizzas here again and with more pop.” He said in a concerned voice “how is she?”

“She’s scared. Can you bring them to my room? Don’t let anyone get their grubby paws on them.”

“Yes sir right away.” After shutting the link off I looked back to Blue she was staring at me for the first time since the chase. “You okay?” I asked.

“W-why...” she was interrupted by a knock at the door.

“Hold that thought princess I have something you will enjoy.” I went to open the door when I heard shuffling coming from behind me. She was covering herself with a pillow in the same position as before. I chuckled at her actions but I knew she was scared of me, I knew she no longer trusted me. I opened the door, thanked James and told him not to worry. I turned back around with the pizzas and pop. Blues eyes lit up but were still cautious while I walked towards her and put them down near her feet.

“Go ahead and eat princess. I’ll answer all your questions afterwards.”
