I ran to the infirmary hoping she didn't wake up. Once I got to the entrance, the double sliding doors sprang to life at my presence. I walked over to a counter in the waiting room and got a cup of coffee added my sugar and cream then made my way to Blues room. I opened the door to see a beautiful figure sitting on the bed, she was illuminated by the street lights and full moon shinning through the window. I took a closer look and noticed something strange. My hair stood up on its ends, I got a chill down my spine. The figure was humming a song while gently rubbing Blues sleeping head, I took a step closer to get s better look at the figure. She was transparent! Her long flowing black hair seemed to sway with a non existent breeze, she was wearing a long fitted white gown. Her pale clear skin was barely visible in the dim room.
"Who are you?" I whispered trying not to wake Blue.
"One day you may see, but you must help her along the way Matt. For she is very precious to us." The figure spoke with a smile on her face. Her voice almost ringing in the quite room.
"You didn't answer my question. Who is she precious too?" She began to slowly fade away. "Answer me!"
“You must help her to remember."
“Remember what?" I asked myself. Who the hell was that...A better question is what the hell was that?!
I sipped my coffee and pondered on the events that just unraveled before me. What was she talking about what does Blue have to remember and who is she so important to? She told me she was an orphan, the only person that cared for her was her caregiver Beth. I couldn't rap my head around it, what was Blue not telling me? Was she keeping a secret from everyone? I opened the mind-link.
“James."
“What Matt?"
"...Well someone is being kinda snippy don't you think?"
"Dude it's three in the morning, what more could you possibly want?" He said irritating and with a groggy voice telling me he was already asleep.
"Well since you asked. I need you to research something for me, not now but as soon as you can."
"Well that's a new one, what do you need?" His voice seemed to perk up almost immediately. James loved to research about almost anything he could. He enjoys having knowledge about our enemies so he can give his pack the upper hand in battles.
"It's hard to explain, but do you by any chance know if ghosts are real? Or even like transparent beings?" I waited for his response but I started to fear he may have fallen back to sleep. After a few seconds that felt like years he answered.
"Uhm...Did this 'being' happened to talk to you by any chance?"
"Yeah why? Is that important for your research?"
"Uhm n-no not really, but w-was this being also a female?"
"What are you getting at James?"
"She's standing in front of me....Casey is talking to her and she is actually talking back! I-Is this the ghost thing you saw?" He's stumbling for words is he freaked out by her presence or the fact he knows what she isn't?
"If she has black hair and is saying something like Blue is precious to them, then yes it is."
"Matt....this isn't a ghost." He said in an almost whisper.
"Well then what is it?"

(Blues POV)
I woke up to Matt pacing around the room. His eyes were glazed over as if he was lost in thought. I sat up as far as I could, "Hey Matt, you okay?" He just kept pacing around, I doubt he even sees me. I got up out of the bed making sure the delicate wires don't tangle or snag on anything. "Yoohoo Matt? Earth to Matt!" I gave his shoulder a quick tap and he jumped.
"Holy hell Blue you scared the piss out of me." He said with an irritated tone. "How long have you been up?"
"Just a few minutes, what's with you? Why are you so lost in thought."
"Oh, do you remember the mind-link? I was just talking to James about a pack issue."
"Oh right, right the weird mind telephone thing you guys do."
"Mind-link, but yes. Now come on get back in bed so you can get out of here in the morning." He grabbed my waist and crouched down in front of me. His eyes looked sad and I didn't understand why. He climbed in the bed and laid next to me, the room was silent. After laying in the bed for a few minutes I could feel Matts breathing even out. I looked up to see his sleeping face, he looks peaceful but yet somehow still alert. I curled up to his side, 'He's so warm' I thought to myself, I wondered what his childhood must have been like. How strange it must have felt to make human friends, did he know how to shift at a young age? After countless questions that came swarming to my head I tried my hardest to ignore them. I soon found myself dozing off from the warmth of Matts body.
I woke up in the hospital room alone, I sat up and noticed my shoulders felt heavier then normal. I brushed my hand against my upper arm. "Uhh? Is, is this leather?" A heavy black leather jacket was draped around me, I looked down and seen a piece of paper sticking out of the breast pocket.
"Blue, I was hoping to get back before you woke up. James and I had to go to our neighboring pack. Casey will be at the hospital to pick you up when you are discharged. Make sure you where the coat it's a little chilly outside. XOXO Matt."
He even put a smiley face next to his name. His childishness made me giggle, "what a strange man."
"He sure is." I looked up to find the owner of the deep voice but no one was there. I frantically scoped out the room not daring to leave the bed. "Why do you look so frightened?"
"Who are you? Show yourself!" I demanded.
"Wow, did you hit your head or were you born this dumb?" The voice chuckled. I didn't feel threatened or in any sort of danger at this point I was more curious and pissed at his insults then anything.
"For someone who's brave enough to waltz into werewolf territory you sure are chicken in front of a human." I mocked at him.
"What the hell are you talking about? There aren't any humans here stupid."
"I'm the human. And yet I'm the dumb one?" I rolled my eyes at the mysterious voice. The voice bursts out laughing.
"Y-you think.....you think you're a human!" It continued to laugh even harder now. "That's a good one kid."
“What the hell are you talking about?" I asked in a serious tone.
"You poor thing, you don't even know. Well I guess it was a long time ago and no one really knew who you were so I guess it's understandable." He said in a pitiful tone. I noticed someone standing by the door of the hospital room.
"Oh hey Casey , say hi to the mystery voice who keeps calling me stupid." I chuckled but the look on her face was confused and worried.
"Blue what voice? You have been sitting in here talking to yourself for a few minutes now." Oh my god she thinks I'm crazy.
"Play it off like you were joking with her, act like you knew she was there the whole time." The voice told me, but he had a good plan. "By the way you don't have to speak out loud for me to hear you. All your doing is getting yourself a one way ticket to a loony bin." He chuckled.
"Ha ha ha yeah I heard you coming, Matt left me a note. I just figured I'd play a prank on you, you know to get you back for keeping secrets." I laughed hoping she would by my lie.
"That was so not cool Blue I really thought something was wrong with you." Casey giggled back, her face is still full of concern but hopefully she will drop the subject now. "Alright Blue lets get you home. Bundle up its cold out." I hopped off the bed and went into the bathroom to get dressed.
"For someone who 'nobody wants' you got a pretty rock'n body." The voice said in a sleazy tone.
"Oh great not only are you in my head but you're a pervert too. Fantastic." I sighed "so how long are you gunna stick around me?"
"Unfortunately I'm stuck with you." I rolled my eyes at his comment.
I walked out of the bathroom, put on Matts jacket and followed Casey out of the door. We chatted while making our way out of the hospital, when we made it to the sliding double doors, everything was covered in a white blanket of snow. The neighborhood was beautiful, it was a winter wonderland to say the least. The trees had snow resting on them and every house and yard had untouched snow. It was still lightly snowing out. We walked down the street and back to Matts house. As we walked inside Casey led me to the living room. The huge fireplace was lite, and there was garland lacing the stone mantle. Two sectional couches lined the walls of the room with multiple bean bag chairs and lazy boys. There was a tv mounted over the fireplace but it doesn’t look like it actually gets used.
“Do you want some cocoa Blue?” Casey asked me while I sat down on the couch. “I’ll make sure it has extra marshmallows.” She sang.
“Sure Cas I’ll have some.” I chuckled. “By the way where is Matt?”
“Oh he went on a trip with James they should be back in a few days.”
“Days? It’s almost December and from the look of it outside snow can happen at anytime here.” I started to worry. I guess it’s because I forget most people actually take care of their vehicles and I put it off as long as I can. Casey continued to walk to the kitchen which was only across the hall from the living room.
“They won’t be gone long so don’t worry about them. They do this kinda stuff all the time.” Casey yelled from the other room. “How’s your eye doing? The doc said to put ointment on it and change the bandage every two hours or if it feels itchy.”
I chuckled at her “Casey I can just walk to the kitchen we don’t have to shout at each other.”
“No, no, no. You have to rest Blue, doctors orders.” She said fiddling with cups as she walks back to the living room.
“Hey Casey...” I took a long pause trying to find a way to ask her my question.
“What’s wrong Blue? Are you in pain do you need a painkiller?” She questioned with concern.
“No nothing like that...but um...”
‘Don’t Tell her! She will think your crazy!’ Ugh he’s still here. Why can’t he just sit quietly and pretend he’s not here. I rolled my eyes at the thought of this voice always sticking around.
“Hey Blue? You okay? You were about to ask me something then you kinda just fazed out.”
“Oh yeah sorry. Do you...well does your wolf like talk to you? You know like in your head?” I asked hesitantly and the voice groaned at me for not listening to him.
“Oh yeah. We talk all the time actually.” She said with a smile. “When I first heard her it kinda freaked me out but eventually we got to know each other better.” Her voice trailed off for a moment and she looked dazed. “Blue I’m really glad you are trying to learn more about us and the pack.”
“Can you tell me a bit more about the voice...I-I mean your wolf?” I was hopping the information she gave me could help my situation. “A-and is there a way to make the voice...go away?”
“Well her name is Rain, she is very protective and strides to be the best, she is a pure black wolf a little smaller then Matt’s wolf. As for making it go away I’ve heard of some people refusing their wolf and eventually their bond became weak. The wolf is always there but just doesn’t enjoy talking I guess.” She gave me a confused look. “Why did you ask that?”
“Well I was just curious if like say there has every been a person that possibly maybe didn’t know about their supernatural side and maybe found out about it later in life.” I’m fumbling over my words. I’m terrified of this voice and what it could mean.
“Well I guess it’s possible, most children learn about their wolves when they are about three years old but I have heard of some that didn’t hear from it until they were about ten.....” she trailed off again and after a few seconds her eyes got wide. “Blue....a-are you trying to tell me something?” She raises an eyebrow at me in suspicion.
‘Do not, I repeat do not tell her! Do you understand me?! I swear to god I’ll take over this body and we will leave!’
‘Would you shut up. Maybe this is an opportunity to learn a bit more about myself and you.’
‘Now is not the time you foolish child!’
“Casey I’m hearing a voice and he’s kind of a prick and I just want him to go away but I don’t know what him being here means and he’s starting to freak me out and I just want him to leave!” I talked so fast I’m not sure if I even understood what I was saying. She gave me a sideways look, her eyes were still wide with shock or confusion I couldn’t tell which.
She cleared her throat before speaking. “Well uhm, huh....” she didn’t take her eyes off of me while she was trying to think of some way to respond. She took a sip of her hot chocolate, “let’s start from the beginning okay?”
“My name is Marshall.” The voice said.
