The drive home took almost forty-five minutes due to the increased snowfall. It took a good fifteen minutes into the drive before the MG’s heater finally began cranking out some decent warmth, but even with my jacket around him, Da’ric was shivering so hard I thought his bones would fracture.
“Wh-why did you stop?” His lips looked—not blue, as one might have expected, but almost…green?
I shook my head. It had to be the streetlight’s reflection playing havoc with my night vision. “We’re here.”
“I’m looking forward to the heat. It’s been such a long time…”
