I’d taken the SATs and applied to Coombe University in Delaware, Pop’s alma mater, but once they saw my scores, they scrambled all over themselves to be sure I’d accept the package they offered. Meanwhile, there was no reason to slack off. A vast warehouse of knowledge was out there, and I relished dipping into it.
