When he’s staring at my mouth, I have the strange urge to bite my lip in suspense, wondering if this is truly it: the moment I waited for. Instead, I stop myself, afraid that the slightest of movements would pull him from his trance. And so I lie here, frozen, forgetting about everything else, when after a long moment, he leans in and brushes his lips against mine. Finally…Fucking finally.
Even though I have been waiting for it, it surprises me, and I have to remind myself to relax. His kiss is soft, almost careful, as though he hasn’t just caught me in such a compromising position, but rather as if I’m something delicate that might break. I’m not, but after everything, I must say I appreciate a soft moment like this.
