Chapter 23Toby The following day, I’m at work at the funeral home, and I’ve been trying to fill out the checklist for Mr. Hawthorn’s funeral for the past ten minutes. It’s an important job; I have to make sure everything is properly taken care of. Not just for my sake but for the sake of the company and for Mr. Hawthorn and his family. But my mind keeps wandering off, and my hands keep shaking. My back hurts, I can’t wait to go home, and on top of that, I miss Kai.
