The safehouse was quiet, blanketed in early morning silence. The air was still heavy from the weight of recent days but inside the surveillance hub, a pulse of adrenaline had begun to build.
Jiang leaned over Matteo’s shoulder as lines of code scrolled rapidly on the screen. The room was dim, lit only by the monitors and the fading blue of dawn creeping through the blinds.
"Cross-referencing Specter Alpha’s signature through backdoor logs from the Bangkok blackout... let’s see who hid in plain sight” Matteo’s voice was low. Focused.
He tapped a few more keys. The system paused. A small loading bar ticked across.
“Come on… come on…” Jiang muttered.
And then, the screen blinked.
MATCH FOUND. A classified Helios index file flashed open.
