The vault core was vast and sterile, walls lined with titanium-alloy storage cells, each encrypted with biometric seals. Rows of cold lights buzzed above, casting a blue glow over the polished black floor. It felt like walking into a digital cathedral, quiet, powerful, dangerous.
Selene and Adrian moved in perfect sync, their steps soundless, eyes sweeping every angle.
Adrian motioned silently to the core terminal. Selene paused. Something wasn’t right. Her eyes shifted to the corner surveillance dome overhead, no blinking indicator. Too still.
She narrowed her eyes, lips parting slightly.
“Adrian, the cameras are clean. Too clean” She whispered, not taking her gaze off the dome. Adrian glanced up.
“You think they’re looped?”
