Chapter 2

"Where do I put this?" Jasper asked while carrying a box

"That's for Gab's room. Thank you" I answer and went back to what I'm doing in the kitchen

We're busy arranging the new house. Ever since I received that message we immediately look for a new place, and as far as possible from our previous place. I know this is like buying time and that's exactly what I need, time.

"Seth's asking if you want something, they're on their way here" Jasper asked while holding his phone

"Our dinner, I'm still arranging things here. I can't cook" He nodded and went back to the living room

The new place is a little bigger from our previous one. Of course, Gab asked why we need to move and why he needs to stop attending his previous school. I wasn't able to answer him, how could I possibly say that we're running away from his father?

Khalil Vaughn Archimedes, Gab's other father and the guy I regret loving. He doesn't know that Gabrielle exist that's why I'm puzzled as to why he's still looking for me. For the past years, I tried all the way I know to escape him.

I stayed low and hidden for Gab's sake, it took me three years to contact Jasper and tell him everything. This is not the first time that he's close to catch up on us, Gab is just a year old when I receive the same message from him. And I don't know how I was able to hide from him again with the little money that I have. The second time was during Gab's third birthday, that was also the time where I contact Jasper and ask for help

"That's deep" I was startled when Jasper spoke, he's beside me already but I failed to notice him as I was deep in thoughts. I just smiled at him and assure him that I'm fine

"Just tell me if you need something" He hugged me. They offered to help me settle abroad, Seth and Jasper, but I refused. Thought that Gab would be affected if I ever decide to go overseas and I learned to love it here.

"I know, I could always count on you" I said and hug him back

When Seth and Gab arrived, the latter immediately went to me and kissed my cheek. I didn't even need to ask where they went, Gab was immediately happy to talk about what they did.

"Papa! There's a park over there! And then we play on the playground!" He was still jumping up and down while telling what they did

"Really? Did you have fun?" I asked

"Yes! Yes!" He answered

"He's so happy on the slide and swing, he doesn't seem to get tired" Seth said while wiping his sweat.

"I'll just give Gab a bath, he might get sick."

"Shi, we'll get going. Call us if you need something" Jasper said goodbye, so we accompanied them to the gate. I was carrying Gab because he was already sleepy.

"Bye, Toto" Gab said sleepily and waved at them.

"Take care on the road. Thank you for helping," they waved before leaving. I immediately locked the gate and went inside the house.

"Wait for Papa here okay? I'll just check the locks" I said to Gab and he nodded

I checked all the windows and both back and front door and made sure that it's all locked. I went back to Gab and carry him to go to his room.

"Goodnight baby" I said before kissing Gab's forehead

"Night, Papa" He kiss my cheek and hugged me before closing his eyes. I hug him back and starts to softly caress his hair, it helps him to sleep faster

"I'm sorry, Gab-gab. Papa's not that strong yet to face them again" I whispered to him.

My parents doesn't like the fact that I am an omega, being born and raised in an alpha dominated family could only do you so much. I am a secret. 99% of the world doesn't know that I exists, all they know is that Monique and Peter Alvarez only had one child. And that's my older brother, Enzo.

We we're close when I was still a child. He would play with me but as I grow old and understand things, I learned how far we are from each other. All good things are given to him while I sat on the side watching him with envy.

Back then, I didn't understand why my parents treated me differently. I was born light and frail; they told me I was a miracle baby, that it was a miracle I survived given how stressed my mother was when I was still inside her. I often got sick, so we frequently went back and forth to the hospital. I was treated with love and care, but that all vanished when I presented as an omega.

My parents would leave me home alone with our nanny, and it was only my older brother who often went with them to gatherings. I know some of them wondered where I went and why I disappeared without a trace, as they knew there was still a child from the Alvarez family. But my parents were silent; they would not entertain any questions about me, and as time went by, they forgot about me too.

It is like Shiloah Anton Alvarez never existed in the first place. Only our relatives know me, even close friends of our family doesn't know me. I doubt they care about my whereabout.

I'm just thankful that Aunt Macy, Jasper's mom, accepted me. She's a single mom after Uncle Enrique died in a fatal accident. Jasper is an omega like me; maybe that's why Aunt accepted me right away. She knows how hard it is being an omega in the society we live in, the constant shame just because we are frail compared to alphas and betas. It was only with Aunt Macy that I experienced the true love of a family, which is why I know she was very worried about me when I left them.

I don't want to burden them more that's why I left after I graduate and got a job. I remained in contact with them not until Khalil happened.

I'm getting ready to sleep when my phone lit up. I got nervous all of a sudden because I know who is it.

From: Unknown NumberYou think you can hide forever? Don't test me, Shiloah

I immediately block the number and turned off my phone. Damn you, Archimedes!
