Marley lifted her chin defiantly.
“You have no right.”
“I have all the right Miss Neils. You are bound to me for six months as my bride.” He replied, and his eyes moved over her face, lingering at her lips.
“And even the right to kiss you right here.” He whispered.
Marley hiccuped.
He was standing so close to her and though nothing was behind her to restrict her from running away, Marley found her feet imprinted to the ground.
Her eyes subconsciously went to his lips and lingered there too.
The scene of that night replayed once more. Their lips devouring each other.
She had tried suppressing the memories of that night, of kissing him but now that he was standing so close and what he had just uttered, Marley couldn't help herself.
