Chapter 16 Dave mom is nice

After about two minutes of looking at each other, I couldn’t take the silent anymore. I need to do something to distract the both of them, why am I stock with the both of them at this moment. I don’t know what to do. I took a deep breath and said something to Caleb.

“Hi Caleb, how are you doing? It have been awhile since we last saw each other. Where you waiting for me before? I said as he looks at me and smile.

“I just arrived few minutes ago.I’ve been good,how are you doing?” He asked still looking at Alex who was standing close to me as if Caleb wants to take me away.

“I’m good, I was on my way to visit one of my classmates who was not feeling well. Let me introduce you to my friend, this is Alex our class captain. And Alex this Caleb my friend.” I said

“Nice meeting you Caleb. Alex said as he gave him a bro hug, he swiped something to Caleb which I couldn’t hear.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t make it all this days, my dad have been the one taking me home all this days that’s why I haven’t had the chance to come as I promise the other day. I will drop by on Monday then as you said you want to visit someone. I have to be on my way home now, see you on Monday Sarah. Caleb said as he walk away. I couldn’t stop smiling as he went away.

“Why are you smiling anyway, you are smiling because of him.” Alex asked making me to realize I’m standing with him. Why was I smiling awhile ago, was it because I haven’t seen him for a week now. He looks so handsome with his blue and white uniform. My school uniform is black and white.

“It’s nothing, do you guys know each other in anyway. The way you guys kept looking at each other.” I asked

“Kind off, we need to start going before it get dark. I don’t want your mom to get worried. He said as we started walking and talking different things concerning school.

After about ten minutes of walking we finally get to Dave house, the compound wasn’t that big. It was a two story building, We saw Dave mom sitting outside.

“Good afternoon ma’am we came to see Dave because we haven’t heard from him for some days now.” Alex said

“You guys are welcome, come inside and have something. Dave mom stood up and said we should come with her. She’s a very nice lady, Alex have been here a lot of times. He and Dave are best friends. She took us to the living room and told us to have our sit.

I and Alex sat on the couch as Dave mom went and call him from his room. After sometime we heard footsteps of someone, it was Dave. He was surprised when he saw Alex and I, he was putting on sweet pants and hoodie. He sat beside us.

“Hi Sarah, how are you doing. I’m really happy you came to pay me a visit.” He said as he smiled as me.

“I’m good, I heard you were not feeling fine so I decided to stop by. How are you feeling now? Hope you are getting better?” I said

“I’m getting better now.” He said

“Wish you speed recovery” I said

“Thanks”

“Hey bro, why didn’t you told me you are coming. How have school been lately. Dave asked Alex

“School haven’t been the same without you bro, you need to recover quickly if not I’m going to drag your ass to school by myself. Alex said.

“Come on bro, you shouldn’t be saying that, I’m getting better already you know that. And You know I don’t like missing school.” Dave said, the both of them continue talking about different stuff and forget I was sitting here. Dave mom came to the sitting room after sometime.

“Sarah can you come help me in the kitchen please, I’m making something for you guys to eat before you go home. leave the boys to continue chatting on their own why we had our ladies talk too.” Dave mom said, she’s really a nice woman I admit that. I stood up and followed her to the kitchen. She was preparing pasta for us. I’m watching the time so I won’t go home late, it was 4:00 already. Mom will be back from the market by 7:00 in the evening.

“Are you in the same class with Dave and Alex?” Dave mom asked

“Yes ma’am, we are in the same class” I said as I cut the onions and peppers she asked me to cut.

“That’s Nice, you are really a good girl just as Dave told me. Dave have told me about you already that you guys are friends.” She said as she smiled at me. I also smiled back as we continue talking about different stuff about school and what I want to be in future.

In the sitting room Alex and Dave were talking about different stuff and Dave couldn’t hold what he wanted to say anymore and he asked Alex about it.

“Alex have you told Sarah how you feel about her, for how long are you going to keep it to yourself. You told me you will tell her at school the other day.” Dave said

“ I’m going to tell her bro, I just need sometime before I tell her.I’m scared she might reject me and stop being my friend and you I don’t want that to happen. I’m planning to tell her when we are done with the competition next week.” Alex said

“You need to tell her on time before it’s too late, you have like her every since the day she started school with us. I just want you guys to be together, I’m always here for you bro.

“Thanks bro, you always get my back all the time.” Alex said.

After sometime Sarah went to call them for lunch, they all sat together in the dining table and started eating.

“The food is really delicious Mom Dave. Thanks for the meal ma’am. Alex said.

“I didn’t do much, Sarah was the one who did all the cooking. She’s really a great cook. Dave mom said making me to blush. Alex smile at me making me blush more. We finish eating our food and it was time to go home. The time was 5:30 which means I have to get home on time.

“Thank you for the meal ma’am, I have to be on my way home now before my parents started looking for me. It was nice being with you guys.” I said

“ awww it was nice meeting you dear, do stop by one of this days ok”.Dave mom said as she gave me a hug.

We said our good by before we made our way home, Alex make sure I got to my house before he went home. Mom haven’t come back when I get home, my dad went out to visit someone. I quickly prepared something for us to eat that evening before mom come back from market. Daniel come back home some days ago, I was happy when I saw him. I have missed him so much. He said he his not going back anymore and I was happy because I get to talk with him all the time.
