Chapter 10 My school crush

“Come on, aren’t we friends, it’s not a big deal after all. I just want to help that’s all”.He said as I gave him the book as he insisted.

We started talking about different stuff, I was surprised because I didn’t know he was this free to chat with. We didn’t know the time we chat until break was over, when he saw my friends coming he excuses himself.

“Look like someone have a visitor a while ago, so what where you guys discussing when we were gone. Tell us everything.”My friends keep on nagging me about it.

“It was nothing,He just wanted to help me with my notes that is all.” I told them but they didn’t believe me.

“We all saw you laughing with him a while ago, what is going on between the both of you. Are you interested in my brother. Alex sister asked me as she and the others kept asking me different types of questions.

“Come on guys, I’m not interested in him ok we are just friends that’s all. And stop asking me any questions about this topic. I said as I stood up and excuses my self.

That was almost close, I left out the breath I didn’t know I was holding because of the questions my friends keep on asking me. I don’t want them to know I have crush on Alex, I’m shy about it. I went ahead and use myself before I went back to the class.

When it was closing time I didn’t wait for my friends as I went home alone because I don’t want them to ask me anything about Alex anymore.

I know the type of friends I have. They will keep on asking me until I finally open up to them wish am not ready for,I will tell them but not now.

I was on my way home when I saw Mercy talking to a boy, I was trying to hide so she won’t see me but lock wasn’t on my side today as she spots me on time.

“Looks like someone is trying to hide from me, why have you been avoiding me this few days. I came to your house yesterday and your mom told me you went out. I hardly see you this days, what is the problem.” She asked

I didn’t know what to say anything to her, it’s true I have been avoiding her for sometime now. Ever since I know the type of person she was, I cut of ties with her. how Can I be with someone who wishes bad for me.

“I’m not avoiding you, it’s just that I have been busy this few days that’s why.” I said as I don’t want to continue talking with her.

“Okay if you say so, I just wanted to let you know if you can come over this weekend. We are all having sleepovers with the rest of our friends.” She said as she wait for my reply. She thought I didn’t know her plans with her friends, if it was before I would’ve go but not anymore when I know her true colors.

“I’m so sorry but I won’t be able to come. I have somewhere I have to go to that day with my mom,Maybe next time. I lied because never will I go when I know all their plans.

“Please I really want you to be there that day it’s really important, we have a lot of things plan out we are all going to do. Can’t you tell your mom that about it”.She asked looking worried for some reason wish I don’t know.

“I’m sorry but I can’t, maybe some other time. I have to be on my way now”. I said as I walk away from her, she really have the guts to say all that to me. Why didn’t I know she is type of person all this while, She really knows how to pretend. I’m glad I know the kind of person she is on time before it’s to late.

When I got home I prepared something for all of to eat that evening before mom will be back from market, I went through my notes of that day. I’m now good in class, I prepared ahead of others so that whenever our teacher ask us something I will be able to answer it.

Judith thought me a lot of things when we were still together, she helped me to be who I am today. To be confident and determine in every position I find myself in. I use to call her once in a while with Daniel phone because I don’t have phone. All my friends have phone of their own already except me.

My dad promised to get me one when he have money, I hope he will get me one like most of my friends that their parents bought for them.

The following day when I was at home, Blessing came to meet me at home. It have been up to a week I saw her last; I didn’t know if she later follow my advice or not.

“Hey Blessing how have you been? I haven’t see you for sometime now, where have you been.” I asked her as I told her to come in.

“I have been good, I went to visit my grandparents in the village with my mom and little sis.” She said

“ that’s nice, how are they doing” I asked

“They are fine, thanks for asking. I came to thank you for the advice you gave me the other day. I went home that day after you left and my mom was surprise after seeing me for almost a year,She came and huge me After not being home for a year now. I told her everything that happened from the very first day, including how I got abortion and the rest. She was crying when I was done, She blame herself for everything that happened. That she’s the course of everything if not nothing like this would have happen. I told her it wasn’t her fault but she still insisted that she’s the cause of it. I thought she won’t forgive me for everything I did,But she forgiven me for everything and said I would have tell her all this a while ago. So I’m really great full for the advice you gave me, I never for once thought of going home again because of everything I have done. I really appreciate your help.” She said with tears in her eyes.

“I’m great full I could be of help, and stop blaming your self and let go of everything and start a new chapter in your life. Everything happens for a reason; you need to be happy you made it through all of it. Just focus on your future for now on and forget the past”. I told her as I hugged her because she is really a strong girl, not everyone can go through what she went through. Everything wasn’t her fault it’s just because of the situation she finds herself that is why. We continue chatting for some couple of time before she went home.
