Never Contact Me Again

Chapter Five Yasmine spent the next few days at Tanya's place. The two of them had gone over to Asher's residence the very next day, and got out every of her belongings there. When Asher returned home, he was enraged when he saw the empty room, devoid of any trace of Yasmine's presence. It dawned on him then, that she had been serious when she threw that engagement ring at his face. He'd thought she was joking when she said she wanted to call things off. She ought to know better that he was a man with desires, and it was normal for most men of his caliber to behave the way he did. They married a homely woman and had a hot mistress outside the home, which fulfilled all their desires. Hell, he was not the first man to act this way. Why was Yasmine acting like such a child? It was her fault for having such a hot mother. He and Valerie had hit it off right from the beginning, when they'd met at that meeting. At first, he had been drawn in by Yasmine's coolness and the smart way she'd delivered her ideas. She was like a fresh little flower with him, however, all shy and innocent and Asher was willing to take his time, at least back then. Until Valerie approached him and he had a taste of her. She did things to him that Yasmine would never be able to, and he became addicted to her. The fact that she was his fiancee's mother always made him more excited. Yasmine was never supposed to know. She was supposed to be in the dark about all this, even after they got married because Asher was not willing to give up Valerie. But then, she'd returned from her stupid little trip and caught them in the act. He had brushed it off and given her a few days to cool off, expecting to see her waiting for him at his residence when he got back home today. But all he could see now, was an empty room. He stood in the middle of the room which still held her scent, and the weight of loneliness seemed to settle heavily on his chest at that moment. She had really left? He scoffed in disbelief and raked a hand through his hair. This realization did not sit well with Asher. He was the second grandson of the King Group, the biggest and most influential conglomerate in Crestmont, and Yasmine dared to dump him? "Who the hell does she think she is?" He fumed, "I was only passing time with her because she was a good girl, and now she thinks we are on the same level?!" He brought out his cellphone then and tried calling her. Shock reverberated through his body when he realized she had blocked him. Not only as a contact, but on every of her social media platforms. He stormed Tanya's place then, demanding to see Yasmine but Tanya kindly told him to f**k off. "You've lost her, Asher." She retorted, shaking her fist in his face, "She's never going back to her vomit. If you show up here again, I'll kick your teeth down your stomach." Asher's pride was at stake and he needed to find Yasmine. However, he decided not to argue with Tanya then. Something told him Tanya would make do of her threat if he even tried anything. Tanya had a pretty face but was practically a giant, standing at six-foot-two. She did kickboxing and taught judo as well, and Asher did not want to mess with her. He got into his car and drove to Lorde Exquisites instead, searching for Yasmine. "I haven't seen hair nor hide of her the past few days." Valerie told him when he went up to her office. "A disgraceful attitude for a chief designer, don't you think? She has to be punished for this." She stood up then and walked over to him, her hips swaying seductively. She placed her arms around his neck and smiled sultrily. "Don't worry, baby." She cooed soothingly, "She'll come around. She always does." "I know." Asher replied, as he pulled her closer to him by the waist, "She must be joking if she thinks I'll accept her calling off our engagement." Valerie stilled and pulled back from him, "She called off your engagement?" She asked, her tone laced with disbelief. "That little bitch." She thought maliciously, "How dare she go about acting on her own? She's got to be kidding." "She's just being childish." Asher murmured against her skin, as he brushed his lips over her neck, "She'll get over it, I'm sure." Valerie smiled then, and sighed in contentment as he nuzzled her neck. She locked her lips with his in a passionate kiss, "Of course. Yasmine has never had a mind of her own." Meanwhile, Yasmine had gone out to look for a new place. She had moved out of Asher's place and did not know what to do concerning Lorde Exquisites. Even then, she was not going to be a burden to Tanya. She was done with being a liability to anyone. She'd not go down because of this. She was going to come back stronger and Valerie would no longer be able to mess with her anymore. After a whole morning of searching for a new apartment with nothing to show for it, Yasmine was exhausted. She walked into a cafe to get something to drink when her phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, her already sour mood seemed to drop lower. It was Minerva King, Asher's mother. Why the hell was she calling? Did Asher not clear things with them about their status now? When the call came the second time, Yasmine let out a frustrated breath and picked up the call. "Hello, Mother." She said the word 'Mother' with distaste. She really had to cut this people off from her life. "Were you perhaps ignoring my call?" Minerva's shrill voice came on, "That is very rude of you. Do you think you can be the King's family daughter in-law if you're this rude?" Yasmine rolled her eyes, "I did not ignore your call, Mother. I was only..." "Whatever." The odious woman interrupted rudely, "I shouldn't have expected anything less from someone who has a background like you." Yasmine was on the verge of throwing her phone against the wall opposite her in anger, but she restrained herself from doing so. Why will she ruin her precious phone because of a b***h like Minerva? Minerva had never really accepted Yasmine, and was always quick to point out the differences in their background. She expected Yasmine to fall at their feet and worshipped them, because Asher was interested in her. "Anyways, today is the Chairman's birthday, and you know we will be holding the ceremony at King's residence. I don't know why he wants something small." Minerva went on, tsking in disaproval, "We are the King family for God's sake. Anyways, I want to see you in an hour's time. You are to come and help out he..." "I'm sorry, Mother," Yasmine interrupted, cutting the woman short, "But I won't be attending. Please, do not expect me." "W...what?" Minerva was dumbfounded, unable to believe Yasmine just talked back to her, "Did you just talk back to me? Do you think you'll be able to get married to Asher after this?!" "Asher and I will never get married," Yasmine declared firmly and Minerva was speechless, "Our engagement is off. Do not ever call me again." With that she hung up the call, blocked the annoying woman and walked into the cafe.
