Ink-stained hands shake as Lena walks to the stage… Investigative Journalism, they were given a topic to research and investigate, Lena accidentally knocked over the bottle to refill her ink pen, something she values as "tradition" though Kai teases her as "four-eyed Shakespeare" she smiles unconsciously as she adjusts her thick-rimmed glasses.
"The Vanishing Editor: What Happened to the 2015 EIC?" she investigated old nwspapers, articles and details others missed out on.
1st place in Investigative Writing in this year's 2025 CSPC is… Lena Reyes, from Private Science School for Gifted Children! Lena Reyes, Please come forward.
Due to her excitement she almost lost her balance, quickly walking to the stage. Then, someone called out to her from the crowd. Kai Del Rosario, her trainer who volunteered to train Campus Journalists. He waved his hand at her, smiling proudly in his BSP uniform as he held her award as if he won it himself. He hurried to her and pulled her into a tight hug "I knew you can do it," he said as he buried his face in her hair. Lena turned pink, but not due to the award she received. In the crowd, a rival frowned upon them, wishing her defeat and that their relationship be shattered. "An office will be awarded to the champion as they will be the new EIC, along with a trophy with two quills"
Lena's eyes widened, the office? The one that no one has touched for 10 years, her predecessor is a famous journalist, someone she looks up to. The office and the trophy awaits, with a logo of two quills, and an unsent letter.
Another episode awaits - this time, it isn't just a school project, but the first breadcrumb in their mystery.
