Act I, Chap. III

276 Words
As Lena tried to find more clues at the office room. Hey, are you gonna pick that up? Kai said munching on his snackbar. A voice said from outside "Ms, we apologize, we were patrolling the building and testing the locks, unfortunately the key got stuck to the door. It will take hours before a locksmith will be available. We may need you to stay inside the office, and please avoid forcing the lock, to avoid harm" "Darn, we'll need to stay here for a few hours, we might as well find clues" "Four-eyed Shakespeare, turned Sherlock, how intriguing…" "Look at the shelves, I'll search for clues on my predecessors belongings" "Fine, hey eat this!" Throws her a snackbar (her favorite) "You remembered?" "Sure, sure, spare me the drama" he says waving his hand as if dismissing her. "Hey Shakespeare-turned-Sherlock, what about this?" he brings a trophy with two quills, but one of them had a scratch. Another clue, a sticky note. "Daughter, if you read this, I am probably gone, the 1st breadcrumb, the person beside you? Your predecessors son" "Kai?" "What?" he says looking up from the shelves to her, softening his frown into a cheerful smile. "Did you find the breadcrumb to the mystery? Do you allow me to be your co-detective?" he smiles teasingly bowing and pretending to take her hand and kiss it. Lena visibly cringed but played along. "We should focus on the case," she looked away to hide her pink blush, still trying to keep her calm demeanor. Secretly, perhaps she doesn't know her partner steals a glance when he thought she wasn't paying attention (spoiler alert, she knows)
