  Joann's POV   I sniffled as my eyes squinted open, and I laid bare on the hard surface of the floor. How did I get here?   Did I cry myself to sleep?   I tried to move my right arm but I winced in pain as my ankles moved closer to my thighs.   My wrists were sore and my muscles felt like they were on fire. For a moment, I thought I had been frozen stiff and broken to pieces.   Just as I sniffled and managed to sit up, my hands raked through my hair, my breath clipped and I immediately paused.
