Annaya wanted to go and check the fallen man down the building but Carlos stopped her.
"Stay where you are. If the police get here, your footsteps will read and they will think that you pushed him to death. Let's get out of here" he said and held her hand.
Just as they got to the last floor of the building, they were in shock.
"Where is he? Where is the body? Didn't he just fall from up there?" Asked Annaya looking at where the man was supposed to have fallen dead but he wasn't there.
There was not even a single drop of blood, not even a sign that someone had fallen there.
"I don't get this. How did he escape?" Asked Carlos too and then Annaya heard her phone vibrate.
Her dad was calling her and she just hang up on him.
Before she put the phone back, she saw Sara's texts.
"We need to go back to the parking lot Carlos. Sara has sent me a couple of messages. Maria is in her car in the parking lot. We have to find her quickly before someone else does" explained Annaya and the two ran out of the place.
Just after they left, the man came out along with other men dressed in black.
The man's name was Willis, but his mates called him Zombie.
They had saved him by pulling out a cloth for him to land on and then they hid behind the building.
"We could've just killed them right now so they won't cause problems later" one of them said but another got angry.
"No one will harm my dearest Annaya" said the angry one.
"Relax all of you. The lorry needs to leave right away. It's dangerous out here. Boss said you can just kill the 9 girls, dump them anywhere and travel with the rest to the destination" said Willis who had the closest communication with the boss.
"But Zero hasn't even checked them to see who the girl is" another man asked
"No matter who the girl is, she just has to die and as for the rest, they've seen us. We can't risk anything. Do you dare go against boss's orders?" Asked Willis and they all gave out a strong no.
"Let's just kill and dump them in this building. It will be a while before someone finds them here and we won't have to go forth and back to dump them and then start our journey" suggested one and they agreed to it.
The girls were each injected poisoned and dumped at different areas of the building.
They injected the poison since they didn't want it to seem like the girls were tortured to death.
As for Carlos and Annaya, they went searching into the parking lot, trying to avoid cameras and the security men there.
They searched for a while before finding the car just next to Carlos's car.
"If I knew it was here, I wouldn't have to go through all the search" said Annaya and the knocked on the car window.
The car windows were tinted.
Maria saw Annaya and opened the door.
"Don't come out" Carlos warned.
"How do we take her?" Asked Annaya
"Give me the keys Maria and shift to the other sit. Naya, you drive my car and follow us" Carlos instructed and they followed.
"Stay safe" Annaya said and hugged Carlos before leaving.
They both got in the cars and left.
The security guard saw Sara's car leaving and had to call her to ask if it was her in it.
"I sent my husband and sister-in-law to take it to the garage for me" replied Sara and the security man felt assured.
Sara then knew that Maria was in safe hands.
Carlos drove back home and at the gate, he took a deep breath before getting in.
Mr and Mrs David were there waiting for him to park.
Carlos got out and opened the door for Maria to come out.
Annaya got out from Carlos's car.
"Liya! Liya my baby!" Mrs David rushed over and hugged Maria tightly making her feel pain.
"Mom, slowly she's injured" said Carlos and Mrs David pulled away.
"Oh my poor baby! My Liya. I'm glad you are alive" Mrs David cried as Annaya and Carlos looked at each other.
They were thinking of how to break the news to them that she wasn't Maliya.
"Mom, let's go in. I have something to tell you" said Carlos
"Do that later. I just want to be with my daughter" said Mrs David and took Maria in the house.
"I told you not to worry and that she was safe. See now" said Mr David but Carlos and Annaya were so nervous.
Maria just kept looking and doing nothing.
She didn't even know how to react at the moment.
Carlos and Annaya then walked to the kitchen together.
"What do we do?" They both asked in unison.
