"Having nightmares?" Carlos asked putting his hand back.
"I'll just go out for fresh air" she said not wanting to sleep on his chest again.
She quickly walked out of the car and walked a metre away from the car.
She stretched herself and then looked for a place to sit.
She also remembered the past very well and couldn't forget waking up to finding his teammates in the tent where Carlos was in.
She was still sleeping comfortably with her head on his chest.
Carlos was discussing about looking for the people who were written as missing.
He was giving a plan of how they were going to search and she didn't know about it.
She just opened her eyes smiling.
"Your chest is really comfortable" she said without seeing the others on her opposite side.
She just heard people laughing and when she turned to the other side, she found her teammates.
"You guys are here? I... I wasn't sleeping. I was just checking if his chest is not hurt" she said in panic and fear since she thought no one knew that they were dating.
She collected herself and wanted to leave but Carlos hugged her on the bed and even pecked her forehead.
"You don't have to explain to anyone. You guys can rest for an hour and then we'll start the search. Dismissed" Carlos said and his team left the tent still laughing and smiling.
"You guys we ain't dating. I was just..." she said but Carlos grabbed her and kissed her.
"What are you doing? Why didn't you wake me up?" She pulled away and asked.
"You were sleeping soundly after having nightmares, why should I wake you up?" Carlos asked back.
"You should've woken me up Carlos! See all the teammates have seen me. How do I even face them later?" Annaya asked feeling terribly embarrassed.
"It's nothing. This shows them to know their limits on you. You are my girl" he said so domineering.
"Shut up. What have you assigned them?" She asked
"To look for the missing people on the list. We might be here for another week, and you are coming with me" he said
"What do you mean by that? You should stay back and rest" she said
"Rest? It's not like i'm injured to a point I can't move. I've been in similar situations and even worst. Besides, I'm the team leader and your major. I have to be responsible. Go get proper rest, we'll be leaving soon. Don't forget to pack up more water" Carlos said to her and smiled.
Annaya still recalled that smile he gave her and thinking about it at the present made her smile more.
She didn't even realise Carlos was standing next to her.
"What are you smiling about?" Carlos asked and she almost ran off.
"You scared me! When did you get here? I thought you were resting in the car" she said but Carlos just chose to sit next to her.
"I couldn't sleep too. It's almost day break. Two hours to 6" he said
"Don't worry, we'll find Maliya soon" she said and pat his shoulder.
"I hope so too. Mom is so worried and I don't even know what to tell her" he said
Annaya felt his pain and decided to let him rest on her laps.
"Thank you" he said and closed his eyes.
It was not long after closing his eyes, some men came to them.
They were all dressed up in black suits.
"What are you doing here?" Annaya asked them and Carlos got up.
"Do you know them?" Carlos asked
"Your father sent us to help you. He said after we are done, we should take you back home. The students have all evacuated the school. We should also go back miss" said the lead bodyguard who gazed at Carlos in a different way.
Carlos locked eyes with him too.
"I'm not going back Mark. Tell dad i'm not going back until he learns to change his attitude" Annaya said firmly after standing up.
"Miss Annaya please don't make this hard for us. We'll have to take you back by force" said Mark
"Don't make it hard for me too Mark! I don't want to cause a scene here. Just go back and tell dad you did not find me" said Annaya
"I'm sorry but you have to come with us miss" said Mark and made to grab her hand but Carlos was quick at that.
"Don't force her dude! She doesn't want to go with you, so let her be" said Carlos
"Don't interfere" Mark said and made to grab her again but Carlos put Annaya behind him.
"She won't go with you" said Carlos.
"I guess we were lenient on you back then and you didn't learn your lesson. Better not mess up again this time. Give the girl agent Carlos" said Mark and gave an evil smirk.
"Back then? What does he mean Carlos? Do you two know each other?" Confused Annaya asked.
"It's nothing Annaya but I won't let you go if you don't want to" Carlos said
"You insist on it right? Don't regret it later. Let's go guys" Mark said and went away not wanting to fight infront of Annaya.
"Carlos what did he mean by that? How do you guys know each other?" Annaya asked and followed Carlos who had left her hand and began walking away.
"It's nothing serious Annaya. He is just an old foe, probably back when we were teenagers. Don't worry about it. Your dad must be worried about you. I can lend you my car to go home" he said and turned to face her.
"I don't want to go back Carlos. My dad is just... i don't want to talk about it" said Annaya and walked towards the opposite direction to calm down.
Carlos turned and went away too.
He went past his car, towards where Mark went.
He saw Mark leaving in a jeep along with his men.
Mark made a call before leaving.
"When I find Maya, you all are going to pay for what you did" said Carlos angrily watching Mark leave.
He stood there for a while recalling how he almost lost all his family because of Mark.
There was a lorry behind him, wanting to move.
Carlos felt a hand touch him from behind and quickly turned.
"Sorry sir, my mistake" a man jumped from the lorry and locked it from outside.
The lorry then began moving away without the man.
The man smiled nervously and quickly went away.
Carlos had a bad feeling about him but just brushed the thought and turned to look for Annaya who was also looking for him.
She looked nervous.
"What's wrong?" Asked Carlos to Annaya
"I just overheard some doctors over there talking. Nine students with burnt faces are missing from the hospital" Annaya said
"What?" Carlos was shocked.
