Annaya drove her too fast, such that the gateman had to quickly open the gate.
"Why did you let her go you imbeciles!" Her father, Mr Thompson, yelled.
"It was too dangerous dad. She'll come back home" said Jayden the eldet son.
"She was really angry. I think we shouldn't have done that dad" said Jonathan
"Are you mad? She's only a girl and the only daughter of the family. We should take care of her. The incident will affect her emotionally" Mr Thompson said
"She's strong enough to handle that dad. She took good care of herself in the army three years ago. She can take care of herself even now. I think we should just trust her" said Jonathan who saw the dissapointed look on Annaya as she drove off.
"What are you even saying Jonathan? If it weren't for me, she couldn't survive further in the army. She was being bullied by the trainer and she cried alone every night. I had to change her trainer and later I heard that the trainer had eyes on her. I made sure he was out of the army. If he got to her, he would just break her heart. I would never let anyone hurt my only daughter. Guards, listen and listen good, I need you to follow her and make sure she is safe. Help her wherever needed and don't let anything happen to her. When all of this is done, bring her home whether she likes it or not. She will have to change her teaching career" said Mr Thompson seriously and walked away.
"I'm not doing this with you dad. I'm tired of hurting her. Count me out" Jonathan said and walked away.
"This is all good for Annaya. She'll be happy when she is safe and well taken care of. Talk some sense into your brother" said Mr Thompson to his two other sons and went back in.
The guards grouped themselves into two, some to stay guard at home, some to go for Annaya.
Back to Carlos, he managed to hold up a nurse and ask.
"Excuse me, was a girl with half a burnt face brought in here? I need to see her please" Carlos begged
"We've received atleast three girls with that condition. One of them is already dead. As for the rest, they are still in the theatre. The one that's dead, you can check her body..." explained the nurse but was cut short.
"Maya is not dead. She wouldn't die without seeing me. I'll wait for the two to get out. Thank you nurse" said Carlos and walked away.
He didn't stay away from the thearte.
Doctors from other places were assigned there to come and help.
They also came with their equipment and more nurses.
Tents were made even around the hospital.
Some doctors and nurses went to camp around the school just to make sure that students were attended to before going to the hospital.
Some students couldn't make it to the hospital while some died in the hospital.
After almost two hours of waiting, the nurse came to call Carlos.
Before he followed the nurse, a familiar figure walked in.
It was Annaya.
She was looking around as if looking for someone.
"Annaya!" Carlos called and immediately she was him, she rushed over and hugged him.
"What are you doing here?" He asked
"Looking for you,What else? I went to the school and showed your picture to some people and they said you chased after an ambulance, so I came here. Where is Maliya? Have you found her?" Asked Annaya who was talking non-stop.
"The nurse has just called me in. Let's go" said Carlos and took Annaya by the hand.
They rushed in to the ward which was crowded already.
The nurse pointed to two beds where the two students lay.
One of them was awake.
Carlos rushed to the bed of the girl who was awake.
The girl was looking at him with eyes full of hope.
"Maya!" Carlos called out and sat next to her.
He still had the bracelets with him and he held her hand with them.
The girl tried hard to twist her face.
Annaya looked straight into her eyes.
"She is not Maliya" she said and Carlos looked at her.
The girl's face was wrapped up in bandages, so Carlos couldn't tell if she was Maliya or not.
"How can you tell?" Asked Carlos
"She shook her head and her eyes... Maliya has black pupils but her pupils are brown" Annaya said
"Wait. She is the one who dropped these bracelets on me. You are the one right?" Asked Carlos and showed the bracelets to the girl.
The girl tried and nodded abit.
"See, she is the one" said Carlos
"Let me see those bracelets" Annaya said and took the bracelets.
"See, this one belongs to Maliya, and this one belongs to Maria. Are you Maria?" Annaya asked and the girl nodded.
"She is Maria! She is Maliya's sworn sister. If you find her, then Maliya is not that far" said Annaya in joy.
"That means it's the other girl right?" Said Carlos and wanted to go, but the girl held his hand.
Carlos looked at her and she twisted her head from left to right.
"Annaya, why is she twisting her head?" Asked Carlos, for the first time feeling so scared.
