I glorify Thee, O noble man,15 who defiantly opposed the t*****e of innocent children, and stoutly defended Thy rights. Many there are in our nation, so forgetful of itself, who allow themselves to be abused and made sport of by the light-minded: but Thou hast dredged a moat between Thyself and Thy oppressors, forbidding them access, lest Thou be insulted by them, and Thy fields laid waste. Thou hast set aside Thine own domestic comfort, preferring instead to be persecuted for the righteousness of Thy cause than to wallow in a dishonest, dishonourable tranquility.
