The foreigners are ever claiming that Russia will not be able to maintain her greatness and is doomed to disintegrate. Disintegrate is a horrible word, but is such a thing possible? That, which we desire and hope for, shall be fulfilled! But — praise God — there can be no question at all of her falling apart. For is Russia not based, after all, on a unified nation? Is not the Great Russian tribe itself, which forms the core of the state, mighty enough to bind all the others together? And is Russia not united under one church? Does not each Russian bear deep in his heart the unity and immensity of his motherland, which cannot be separated from his existence, with which he identifies that existence? But perhaps the unity of the Russian motherland has been shaken by some instances of unrest,
