Damian was a wreck, a total mess. His sister had almost walked in on him, and likely guessed what they’d been up to. Now he wondered if she was about to make a run for it instead of visiting their dad in the Valencia grove like she’d claimed. In her shoes, Damian would probably bolt for the highway, too, but he didn’t want to be the one responsible for losing her.
On top of that, his dad was sure to ask nasty questions later about why Alex Murphy was visiting. Max would undoubtedly make innuendoes, too, next time he caught Damian alone.
