Damian drove back to Fresno in a dark mood. He scolded himself for being bummed about something that was awesome for Alex—especially when he’d known it was coming all along.
But it wasn’t only separation from Alex that depressed him. It was the realization that his own future was about to arrive, too. In a couple of short weeks, he’d be done with classes and moving out of his apartment and back to the farm. And there he might stay for the rest of his life.
