Chapter 6: The Beginning

840 Words
A soft subtle voice calls out from behind a large maple bedroom door, “Okay Lukus, time for you to go to bed.”  “No!”, A squeaky child reply’s, as the bedroom door flings open with a small, long blonde haired, blue eyed boy running out the room.  He spins back around, standing there with his arms crossed over a pair of superhero pyjamas,  “I’m the oldest! So, I shouldn’t have to go to bed at the same time as Kevin!” He says, pulling a grumpy, pretend upset face. A tall, dark brunet figure walks through the doorway, standing there with a small grin fixed to her dainty face, one of her eyes is a gentle green with the other being a glistening blue. Her body stands tall and strong, with a perfect balance of curves from head to toe while the landing light shimmers her elegance and beauty. A silk yellow night gown cloaks her body in its delicate texture, “Well, Kevin is already in bed, like a good boy?” She says in a mousey tone, raising her eyebrows at a miniature Lukz. “but I guess if you’re the oldest, then the tickle monster won’t be able to catch you?” She calls out, spreading her hands open, chasing the little Lukz back into his room, trapping him onto his bed. She pins him against his dinosaur covers, then starts tickling both sides of his belly, while making farting noises by blowing on his stomach.   “Ahahhaha, Mum, Stop it!” Lukz cry’s out in happiness and laughter, “Okay, Okay, I will go to sleep. But please can you keep the light on tonight, as I keep having scary dreams?” He adds, opening a pair deep blue eyes, begging like a small innocent puppy.   Lukz’s mum smiles from ear to ear, “Yes of course, now get some sleep my Little Lukz, you can’t fight away those nasty dreams if your awake, can you?” She kisses his forehead, then claps her hands together, causing a small night light next to the door to flick on. She slowly strokes Lukz’s head while walking away, gently closing the door behind her.     Lukz clambers underneath a thick duvet, pulling it over himself while laying back into his soft feather pillows. He slowly closes his eyes, leaving everything to be extremely silent. His entire room stands uniform, all his toys are pressed up against a side wall next to his door, ranging from smallest to largest. Beside that, a small set of Chester draws stands squeezed underneath his bedroom window, which follows onto his small single bed and a Large wardrobe at the foot of it. Lukz lays there quietly, until his head starts to gently twitch, his hands move out from underneath the duvet, grasping onto his mattress. His whole body starts to shudder and vibrate, sweat droplets gather on his forehead then suddenly, he flings himself up. Completely dazed, he shivers with fright, horrified to look anywhere but straight ahead. Shoving his hands against his face, he squints both illuminous blue eyes, slightly peering through gaps within his fingers. Forcefully, he turns his neck, glancing over to his toys but flinches, completely covering up his face! Too terrified to look any further, he takes a deep breath while gaping his mouth wide open, “MUUUUUUUUUUUM!”, he bellows in a high-pitched screech! Lukz throws his hands away cowering in fear, only to see all his toys still standing there perfectly. With no sign of anything scary, he scrunches his face up confused. Letting out a deep sigh of relief, he lays back onto his pillows, staring straight towards the top of his wardrobe. A pair of luminous, blood shot, red eyes, gaze straight towards him!    Chapter 7: Ruthless  “Lukz”, a distant voice calls out. “Lukz, Lukz, wake up!”, the scared voice says again.   Lukz Gently opens his eyes, to see Darcie shining a small light directly into them.  “Ahh!”, he swipes the light away from his face, “What are you doing, Darcie?”, he asks in a daze.   “You were shaking and mumbling? I thought you was scared or having another night terror?” she replies, concerned.  “Ha, me, scared?” Darling, I fight demons for a living, you really think a little dream is going to scare me?” He says, smirking an arrogant grin.  “No, but this might?” She replies, pulling out a tiny, four-legged creature from his arm.  He immediately grabs it, crushing it in his hand! “What the… is that a baby Terry?” He says, glaring towards her.  “Terry? Who’s Terry?” She reply’s, concerned?  “Ow you know, the demon thing that ripped my arm half to shreds?” He replies while sitting upright on a freshly cleaned medical bed. Lukz opens his palm to see a mangled baby demon, identical to Terry, “Yuck!” He cringes, wiping the crushed black corpse over some crystal white sheets.  Darcie looks down at the large black smear, slightly shaking her head.  “Lukz! You really do know how to be an ass?” She says, aggravated.  He smirks his half-butchered face towards her, “hey, don’t look at me with those big, beautiful eyes, these sheets just get burned anyway? Saves me a job?” Lukz adds, raising his eyebrows.  “Ahh, you’re so annoying! Anyway, the creature, why Terry?” Darcie says, rolling her eyes.  “well, you remember Paul?” he replies.  She nods, rolling her hands, “Yes, the one you burnt in mid-air, while stuffing a sock into a vodka bottle, making a Molotov? blah, blah, blah. Heard that one a hundred times.”   Lukz smiles, “Well, it helps me remember all the creature thingies, if I give them common names?”   “Right? Well that makes no sense, but neither do you? So, I’m just going to go with it.” She says hushly, while pulling a sarcastic smile.  “Anyway, what the hell was that thing doing in my arm?” He demands.   “I don’t know? You passed out just after the Special Forces took Kevin away? So, once I had given my statement, I took you to get an X-ray, just to see how severe the damage to your arm was, when I noticed… Terry junior?”   Lukz butts in, “See, see, the name thing works?” He says, smiling innocently.  Darcie glares at him, “As I was saying, the thing that got inside of you must have really wanted you dead? I’m guessing this was like, a backup plan? In a way?” she says, confused by herself.  “WHAT! A back up plan? That’s just crazy? These things are getting ruthless. I need to talk to Kevin, where is he?”   Darcie flicks out her phone, “There questioning him on the so called, attack? They should release him within the next few days. As in my statement I explained he was just acting out of pure desperation, for you nearly dying! Plus, Don can vouch for him? It’s not like he hasn’t got you out of worse?” She says, raising one eyebrow.   “Hey… the guy was dead, so technically, taking his car isn’t stealing? I think?” Lukz pokes his tongue out.   “Oi!” Darcie says, trying to grab it.   “Okay fine, I’m going home then. I’ll text him now, but if you see him first, tell him to come to mine when he’s out?” Lukz says, smirking towards her.  “Fine.” Darcie replies, sarcastically smirking back.
