After hearing Percy's report on the accident, Cyrus thought for a few moments before speaking, "This situation is more complicated than it looks. Lauren couldn't have pulled this off alone. Keep following the trail and report back with any new findings."
His aching left shoulder throbbed, reminding him of the injury. Tapping his finger lightly on the desk, Cyrus added, "If necessary, feel free to leak some of this information to the police. I'm sure they'll be interested in what you've found."
Percy nodded and left the room.
Cyrus walked to the doorway of his bedroom, glancing at Mabel, who was still fast asleep. After a brief hesitation, he turned and went to sleep in the guest room instead.
