Chapter 11

"Jin, do you have any regrets? Or maybe the things you wanted to do but never got the chance to," I asked. Today was another beautiful Friday night featuring downpour. Some people out there must be cursing on the heavy rain, but for me, I was in the perfect place and spot ― enjoying the rainy night from my window, witnessing people trying to find a shelter and car honk blaring throughout the city. Jin levitated above me, staring down while folding his arms across his chest. "Why did you ask? That's very unusual of you. I think you've got fever." He pressed his translucent palm against my forehead, checking my temperature which I took in as a mock. "This is why I hate being a nice person." I grunted and shunned his hand away. "I wanted to repay your kindness, so helping you to fulfil your wishes would be the only way, right? That way, you won't have to be alone anymore." My lips quivered down, knowing exactly what did I just utter. "Yeah, in other words, you want to get rid of me." He rolled his eyes. I pouted. "Geez, why do you always have negative thoughts of me? I'm trying to help you here; I had no intentions to get rid of you in the first place. I just don't want you to feel lonely, that's all..." I muttered, closing my mouth with both of my palms after realising what I had just said. It might create misunderstandings. A teasing smirk danced on his lips, eyes flickered with amusement. "So, in other words, you actually starting to care about my being? How nice of you, Mirae," he mocked as I threw a pillow that ended up passing through his body. "Oh gosh, I should definitely call an exorcist now," I threatened, picking up my phone to scare him. In fact, I know nothing about exorcist or whomever related to supernatural and occult. "That's really scary, Mirae, well done." He clapped his hands sarcastically, staring at me in boredom. "But if I were to be very honest here, I don't know my regrets nor the things I wanted to do back then; I can not remember each record of my life, only the remnants of it," he explained, tone descending along with every word that had left his mouth. I was slightly taken aback, lips parted into a small gap. "I'm sorry, I don't know about that." My eyebrows furrowed in concern. "And to be honest, it's scary to look how you suddenly become so kind," he teased and laughed. His incessant laughter became the trigger of my popping veins, ready to throw a nice punch right on his face. "But seriously, Mirae..." he trailed off. "Thank you so much for being with me, even though you're kinda forced to see me in some points. But I'm thankful to the fact that at least, you're the person who could see me and feel my presence." He smiled.
