Chapter 02

"Wrong, Mirae! Geez, you can't even cook a ramen cup properly!" Jin commented from above. I was lucky that he was a ghost, if not, probably my face was already stained with his saliva. "How would you know? You cannot taste it!" I fired back. Jin was always fretful when it comes to cooking, and on the contrary, cooking was something I could not master no matter how much I tried. That's why he would stay by my side, giving bad comments about my dish ― although he could not taste it, but he would still give the live cooking lesson anyways. "Just by seeing the texture of the noodles and everyone could tell that it was not even worth a try. The texture is too mushy, you should not have poured too much water," he chirped while following me to the dining table. "You know, you cannot judge a book by its cover," I casually replied, taking a seat and let him continue blabbering. It was true that my ramen was not the best, but who cares? As long as my stomach was filled then I'd be happy. But seriously it tastes gross. This was why I prefer to use the delivery service. but I was tight on money since I haven't gotten my salary yet. Jin bumped his translucent fists onto the dining table, obviously not making threatening sound at all since he could not touch any objects. "Excuse me? Book and food are two different things! You cannot compare those," he scolded me again, as if he was my mother. I shrugged it off and continued eating my oh-so-gross ramen. And that was when I felt an impact landed perfectly on my head. "Hey!" I dropped the chopsticks and rubbed my head. "What was that for?" I grunted as I shot a menacing look to him. This was another thing I hate; Jin could touch me out of all things, and that means he's able to hit me too. I sometimes forget about that, though. "For not listening to me although it was for your own sake. Stop being a rock, Mirae. You should listen to people if it's for your own good, does not matter if that someone is a stranger. Now go finish your eww looking dinner and wash up, it's getting super late," he spoke and then flew elsewhere. I stuck my tongue out at him while still rubbing my head. But truth to be told, that naggy part of him is probably the only thing I like about him. Having a motherly figure to warn me about small things is not that bad, I guess.
