MILA'S POV The next few days blurred together with practices and meetings. I kept busy at the agency, but my mind stayed stuck on Jax. Every text from him made me smile stupid at my desk. Spencer noticed, of course, rolling his eyes like I was wasting time. “Must be nice having an easy assignment with the goalie,” he muttered. I just handed him some files anyway and kept moving. That evening I went straight to Jax’s after work. He met me at the door with a tired look but pulled me in for a long hug.
