The night air buzzed with anticipation as Evan and Nia stood in front of Nia's apartment. Evan convinced Nia to go with him to his uncle's lavish party, a party that promised a glamorous evening. Despite Nia's initial plans for a quiet night at home, Evan's pleas and promises eventually convinced her. With a mischievous smile, Evan extended his hand. “Come on, Nia, you can't refuse a night like this. My uncle's parties are legendary and I need the perfect person by my side,” he emphasized when he noticed Nia’s reluctance. Nia laughed and playfully pushed Evan's hand away. “Okay, okay,” she succumbed, “I'll go with you, but only if we make this trip as fun as possible!” As they walked to Evan's car, his phone rang, breaking the atmosphere. Evan ignored the call, hoping it would stop on its own. But the continuous ringing continued, filling the air with an annoying buzz. Nia raised her eyebrows, feeling strange that he wasn’t even checking the phone to see who was calling. Hesitantly, Evan reached into his pocket to discreetly check who was calling. His expression changing swiftly upon realizing who the caller was. Excusing himself with a quick apologetic smile, he stepped away from Nia to answer the call. As he left, Nia couldn't help but feel a sense of doubt creeping in. This wasn't the first time she had noticed Evan acting strangely when his phone rang. Evan spoke in hushed tones, his voice tinged with urgency, causing Nia's curiosity to rise even more. She tried to wonder what was going on. Why was he keeping his phone calls a secret? Was there something he didn’t want her to know? She remembered the last time he came to her house and how strange he acted when his phone rang. It was unusual for Evan to keep his calls private but lately he was beginning to hide his calls. Putting her doubts aside, Nia reminded herself that everyone has their own personal problems to deal with. Just because they were best friends didn't mean she had the right to know every detail of his life. She took a deep breath, choosing to trust Evan and give him the benefit of the doubt. After a short conversation, Evan ended the call and returned to Nia's side with a subtle change in his behavior. He gave her an apologetic smile. "Sorry Nia. The call was important. Shall we continue?" Nia nodded, although there was still some doubt in her eyes. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to the call than he had revealed. However, she decided to ignore it because she didn't want to ruin their evening together. They rushed into Evan's most prized possession, the beautiful Bugatti La Voiture Noire, sparkling in the nightlights. The elegant sports car symbolized Evan's refined taste and extraordinary wealth. Unable to resist, Nia ran her fingers over the soft leather seats, enjoying their luxurious feel. When Evan started the engine, the car roared to life and he turned up the volume on the stereo. The car immediately filling with their favorite upbeat tunes, and they both broke out into singing. They sang at the top of their lungs with excitement. Laughter echoed in the air, momentarily erasing the outside world. Nia shook her head to the beat, her silky blonde hair swaying to the beat. Her shoulders moved playfully, reflecting the rhythm. Also immersed in the music, Evan tapped his fingers on the steering wheel, his body swaying in a natural groove. Smiling, Nia tilted her head back and sang the lyrics. "That's what I call a party on wheels Evan! Who needs a packed house when we're having our own little karaoke here?" Evan joined in, matching Nia's energy, his voice carrying the melody. "You're absolutely right, Nia! We're the life of the party!" Their voices blend with the music, blending in perfect unity. They smiled and laughed, their minds light and free, completely immersed in the present moment. Nia's earlier doubts faded as the pure joy of the present overwhelmed her. She trusted Evan, their six-year friendship providing a solid foundation of trust and understanding. Tonight she wanted to have a good time, enjoy the fun and adventure. Nia had agreed to accompany Evan not out of romantic interest but simply because he was her best friend. They shared countless silly moments like these, where they could relax and be themselves. In Evan's company, Nia felt at ease and accepted. She valued their six years of friendship and didn’t want to taint it by involving romantic feelings. Their duet persisted as they drew closer to the party. Nia glanced at Evan, her eyes shining with genuine friendship. "You always know how to make even the simplest things fun, Evan. Thanks for forcing me out tonight!" Evan smiled. "No problem. We're going to have the time of our lives. Just wait and see! Evan had always been a free spirit, he knew how to make her relax and have fun. That was what she liked best about him. It was his ability to influence and captivate people. With the music blaring from the party and their spirits high, they got down from the car and entered the party, ready to have fun together. *** Across town, Ryan Lucas is hurriedly adjusting his tie, a look of impatience on his face. He was on his way to a party, but he didn't feel like going. Feeling stressed out by his hectic schedule, he would have preferred to stay home with a hot cup of tea and a thick blanket. But tonight he had a different mission. Mr. Guaye, a potential business partner, had specifically requested that he attend a lavish party. Although he was tired, Ryan understood the importance of making connections and taking advantage of opportunities. Moreover, since all his previous attempts to meet Mr. Gauye had been in vain, this party was an essential step for him to meet him. He reluctantly left the comfort of his penthouse and prepared for the night ahead. "John," Ryan called to the driver as they reached the front gate. "Ah! Mr. Lucas, are you ready?" Ryan smiled, John's voice always had that effect on him. "Yes, I am" "Okay, sir," John replied as he opened the backseat door so Ryan could get in. Ryan got into a sleek black car, the driver revving the engine. As the driver drove, his mind wandered to Nia and he couldn’t help but wonder when next he was going to see her. Just the thought of seeing her again sent excitement coursing through his veins and his wolf was thrilled. As he imagined their next encounter, his wolf's senses heightened, eagerly yearning for them to be together. Lost in thought, Ryan looked out the car window and watched the city lights flash by like stars in the distance. In this human world, Ryan felt like a lonely wanderer navigating uncertain waters. He began to understand that wealth had a certain price and weight. Lately, he seemed to be carrying all the weight. He wanted to be with his mate, to have friends who simply wanted to hang out rather than discuss business proposals. He wanted it all, but he knew he couldn’t afford to do those things. Soon Ryan arrived at the party and stepped out of the car with determined steps. He entered the gathering, ready to meet the businessman who had the potential to take his business to an even higher level. The vibrant energy of the party enveloped him, inviting him to step inside. Laughter, clinking glasses, and lively conversation filled the air at the luxurious party venue. Nia Addams, wearing an elegant black dress with a low V-neckline that stopped just above her chest, navigated the crowd with grace and confidence. She gave off an aura of glowing energy and her eyes sparkled. Unknown to Nia, Ryan Lucas had just arrived at the party wearing a sharp charcoal gray suit. As he entered the luxurious banquet hall, he looked around the room, looking for the familiar face of Mr. Gauye. His gaze swept across the sea of guests, but he couldn't spot him. Disappointed, he decided to leave the crowded area and look for a place to settle down. As Ryan turned to leave, a waiter approached him with a tray of champagne. "Champagne?" she asked, holding out the glass seductively. He shook his head in response, intending to politely decline the offer and continue on his way. However, midway through his exit, a twist of fate intervened. Ryan's quick feet collide with Nia's graceful steps, and their bodies collide with random force. The collision causing glasses of champagne to fly off the waiter's tray, spilling its contents onto Ryan's shirt and shattering delicate glass pieces on the floor. Who dared to run into him like that, were humans always so blind? Ryan couldn’t help but feel irritated and angry. But soon a familiar scent hit his nose- like lavender, he knew who owned this scent.
