Ade's POV
I gradually opened my eyes as I stretched like a cat. It took my brain several seconds to remember what had happened before I slept. I jumped out of bed.
“I won,” I said smiling.
“Yes, you did,” Beta Kent said from somewhere in the room. He was sitting in a chair in the opposite direction from the bed. I was disappointed, though; I thought Delvin was the first person I would see when I woke up.
“You are disappointed he is not here?” Beta Kent asked.
“Where is he?” I asked instead of answering his questions.
“Somewhere puffing his chest at the Royal guards. But not to worry, he asked me to mind link him the moment you are awake,” Beta Kent said, smiling.
“He made you babysit me?” I asked in surprise.
“You are his mate. I should take care of you too,” Beta Kent said.
