Ade's POV
I stood rooted to the spot watching Tristan go. I had not expected everything to play out the way it did. I had thought Tristan had betrayed me. I had thought of one thousand kinds of death I wished on him as his father's goons held me down.
I had followed Tristan to that clearing that night without thinking or suspecting anything unusual. He had told me we were coming to see his mum, and I believed him totally, only to meet his father and his goons waiting to take me away.
One thing that I realized at that moment was the fact that Tristan just saved me from his dad and he didn't do it alone. Delvin and Beta Kent knew about it.
“We need to go now,” Beta Kent said, touching my shoulder lightly, and I nodded without looking at him.
